#DonaldTrump promised to lower cost but instead boasted to his billionaires about how much money they made from his #Tariffs and #MarketManipulation, I stand with @housedemocrats.bsky.social and @repstevenhorsford.bsky.social in demanding transparency about who’s really benefiting from his policies
The @ATFHQ has been leaderless for months — during a national gun violence crisis. Now the administration appoints an acting director who already has another full-time job? Protecting American lives isn’t a side hustle. We need serious leadership — now. #GunViolence #ATF #PublicSafety
"To control a people you must first control what they think about themselves and how they regard their history and culture. And when your conqueror makes you ashamed of your culture and your history, he needs no prison walls and no chains to hold you." ~ John Henrik Clarke t.co/q8rXtt7cn4
Today, we commemorate the 56th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s final speech in Memphis "I've Been to the Mountaintop." Delivered on April 3, 1968, the day before his assassination, this speech was a powerful call to action in support of striking sanitation workers fighting for fair wages
In 1876, Secretary of War William W. Belknap was IMPEACHED for “criminally disregarding his duty” and “basely prostituting his high office to his lust for private gain.” Today, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has shown the same blatant disregard for his duty. He must RESIGN immediately.
Reporter: Can you share how your information about war plans was shared with a journalist? Hegseth: So you are talking about a deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist who has made a profession of peddling hoaxes
Today, I am calling on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other top officials in the Trump administration to resign immediately due to their reckless and unlawful disclosure of national security secrets. Their actions have put our country at risk, and immediate accountability is necessary
Proud to stand w @robinkelly.house.gov @durbin.senate.gov @jonathanjackson.house.gov at Roseland Hospital to reject proposed Medicaid cuts. These cuts don't distribute sacrifice equally. They concentrate it among those already facing the greatest barriers to care.
House Republicans want to give even more money to billionaires — by cutting $880 from Medicaid. I held a press conference at Roseland Community Hospital to fight for its patients that rely on Medicaid and tell Republicans to stop tampering with our healthcare systems.
I was honored to march hand-in-hand with my father, Rev Jesse Jackson, across the Edmund Pettus Bridge 60 years after #BloodySunday On this hallowed ground, the struggle for justice was met with brutality, but the marchers never backed down Their courage forced a nation to confront its conscience
History made! Congratulations to the Kenwood Girls Basketball team on winning their first-ever state championship with a dominant 65-44 victory** in the IHSA Class 4A title game! Huge shoutout to Coach Andre Lewis on his 300th win at Kenwood & 500th overall! 🏀🔥 #StateChamps #KenwoodBroncos
I stand with @RepAlGreen against Republican attempts to silence him. Censuring him won’t stop the fight for Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Democrats will always defend Americans’ rights to a safe, healthy, and secure life. #FreeSpeech #ISaidWhatISaid
Last night I stood up for those who need Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Democrats will never abandon the fight to make sure every American has a safe, healthy, and financially secure life. #ISaidWhatISaid
Elon Musk, the ultimate unelected bureaucrat, is out here whining about unelected bureaucrats—while running his own shadow government. The hypocrisy is off the charts. 🤡 I’m standing with my @HouseDemocrats colleagues to fight for everyday working families against the #ElonGovernmentTakeover
