Honored to receive Growth Energy’s 2026 Fueling Growth Award for my work championing biofuels. Nearly half of NW Ohio farmers, producers, and growers’ income comes from biofuels that utilize corn and soy. I will always fight for those who make and grow what makes and grows America.
Ripping health care away from nearly 1 Million Americans doesn't make life more affordable. With prior cuts causing the nation’s largest loss in coverage here in Ohio, affordability and access are at a critical stage.
There is no more pressing issue for NW Ohioans than rising costs. A series of arbitrary and reckless tariffs along with an unnecessary war in Iran have pushed many Ohioans to the breaking point. The rising cost of gas, diesel, fertilizer, aluminum, and more has driven up prices everywhere.

Today, prayers and hopes of grateful people across our entire region are joined with highest respect for Toledo’s vigilant Fire Chief Allison Armstrong—a victim of a car crash as she was traveling to an annual Firefighters Memorial Service. We know her utter dedication to duty and to our community.
Great to meet with Ohioans from the VFW this week in DC. It’s an honor to be with those who served the cause of Liberty abroad. I will always stand up for our veterans, and work to pass legislation like the Major Richard Star Act which will help them to get the pay and benefits they deserve.

Tonight an overwhelming bipartisan majority voted 262-159 to pass Russia Sanctions legislation I led, and aid our ally Ukraine in her fight for Freedom and Liberty as they approach a long, cold, winter. Just like in WWII we stand with Liberty first, now, and always. Freedom means never surrender.

Tariffs are taxes on the American people. They increase the cost of everything. Rising prices especially hit hard in my home state of Ohio, the largest exporter of goods to Canada in the Great Lakes region. Our Great Lakes economy is the third largest in the world, amounting to over $6 Trillion.
Hardworking NW Ohio farmers, producers, and growers are getting run over by the President’s tariff agenda. Farmers are getting squeezed on both sides by high input costs and dropping profits caused by the war in Iran and unnecessary trade wars. The Administration should fight FOR us, not against us.
Encouraging NW Ohioans and all Americans to register to vote this #NationalVoterRegistrationDay. Voting is one of our most sacred rights and responsibilities and the best way to make sure your voice is heard! Visit olvr.ohiosos.gov or your local county Board of Elections website to get started.

As I continue recovery and return to Washington as Congress reconvenes, I visited with local reporter Josh Croup. Discussed many topics including my deep respect for NW Ohio first responders, medical professionals, and all they face each day. So grateful for their courage and utter devotion to duty.
Happy New Year to all celebrating Rosh Hashanah in our Northern Ohio communities, across our Buckeye State, and around the globe! May you spend this special time surrounded by family and friends. Wishing you joy, health, and happiness in the year ahead. #LShanaTovah
The horrific attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon 25 years ago changed our nation forever. Nearly 3,000 American lives were lost that day. Many thousands more 9/11 first responders have lost their lives since from extreme complications they experienced. We will never forget.
Global oil prices surged past $100 a barrel as the war in Iran drags on, and we are paying the price at the pump. The President said relief won't come for a “little bit longer.” Hardworking Ohio families need action now, not in a few months—this economy is unaffordable, and there isn’t time to wait.
News of possible closure of the Toledo Blade is heartbreaking. Thriving local journalism is vital to democracy and civic life. Hopeful the oldest business in Toledo and lifeblood of our NW Ohio region can find a path to be sustained.
This Labor Day thinking of my mother who was a @UAW.org union organizer and my father who retired from Toledo Jeep. They showed me that there is power in a union. Union membership means better wages, good benefits, and a safe and secure retirement. Thank you to all who keep those values alive today.
