While the 37th District is not within the evacuation zone at this time, we understand that power outages have been reported in Ladera Heights and View Park-Windsor Hills. LAFD has reported that brush fires at Fairfax Ave/Stocker St and 54th and La Cienega have been extinguished.
🧵I am heartbroken by the devastating fires in LA County and my prayers are with all families impacted.
My office is closely monitoring the situation. Please see below for updates and resources. ⬇️
Last month in @houseforeign.bsky.social, I urged Secretary Blinken to designate the RSF & allied militias as committing a genocide in Sudan.
I applaud the Administration for making this critical designation. The U.S. must continue to dedicate resources to ending this conflict & scaling up aid.
What’s the Republicans’ agenda? We’ll find out in a Truth Social post after the Billionaire Bros’ weekend at Mar-a-Lago.
Meanwhile, Democrats will focus on the issues that matter: lowering costs for everyday Americans.

2 years ago, police brutally and fatally beat Tyre Nichols—a father and Californian—during a routine traffic stop. He should still be alive today.
We must honor his memory with meaningful reforms to keep our communities safe & continue to pursue justice for Tyre and his family.
Today, I fulfilled my solemn duty as a Congresswoman to certify the results of the 2024 Election, joining VP Harris & Democrats in putting country first.
May January 6 always serve as a reminder that our democracy is fragile & only works when the will of the people is respected.
It’s time to put the pitchforks down and get to work for the American people.
People in my district and across the country want lower costs, affordable housing, and quality health care. Let’s get back to those issues.
Just got sworn-in! It’s an honor to continue serving as CA-37’s voice in Washington.
The days ahead may be uncertain, but one thing is clear: I’ll work with anyone to bring down costs and create a better tomorrow for my constituents—and I’ll take on anyone who stands in our way.
🍿 Caught the tail end of the speaker show with Tim Burchett.
Will there be a sequel??
How many votes will it take for the GOP to elect a Speaker? 🤔

I am heartbroken by the unspeakable attack in New Orleans. I commend the swift response from local law enforcement and first responders whose bravery saved lives. My prayers are with the victims, their families, and the resilient people of New Orleans.
Happy New Year! 🎆
Here’s to health, happiness, and new beginnings in 2025! 🥂
Angelenos know first-hand the necessity of keeping our air clean.
54 years after the Clean Air Act was first signed into law, we're continuing the work to decrease air pollution and increase clean and healthy air for all.
With the start of the 119th Congress around the corner, I wanted to reflect on the 118th.
Here are the moments that made it—and some that didn’t. 📹

President Jimmy Carter will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents our nation has ever had.
I join the country in sending my deepest condolences to the Carter family and all those who loved and admired him.
It’s hard to believe I’m wrapping up my first term in the U.S. House of Representatives—it’s been a rollercoaster, to say the least!
Through all the chaos of the last two years, I am extremely proud of what I’ve been able to deliver for the 37th District.
51 years ago, the Endangered Species Act was signed into law, protecting our precious wildlife and preserving our ecosystems.
This Congress, House Republicans attacked the ESA and endangered species like the gray wolf—I'll keep fighting against these cruel deregulations.
