I introduced the Protecting Human Rights and Public Health in Foreign Assistance Act to repeal it. Taxpayer dollars should protect health and human rights—not political agendas.
Republicans are pushing a new policy to inject extreme, right-wing social policies into foreign aid.
This Expanded Global Gag Rule is already hurting women and girls, minorities, and LGBTQ+ communities worldwide.
Our New York Knicks brought the NBA finals back to the garden for the first time in 27 years, I brought sweet treats back to DC to celebrate!
Knicks in 4 #AlwaysKnicks
I’m calling it, KNICKS IN 4🧡💙
Great to be at the Bayside BID Restaurant Stroll this weekend! I love supporting our local restaurants and hearing how we can help them thrive.
When the House passed a bipartisan Iran War Powers Resolution to put an end to the President's reckless and costly war, I voted yes.
The power to declare war belongs to Congress—not the President. As more Republicans join us, the Senate must take up this measure to end this chaos.
Joined the LeFrak City Tenants Association meeting to share updates on my work in DC, hear directly from residents, and listen to their questions and concerns. Always grateful to connect with the LeFrak community and keep folks informed about the resources my office offers.
A proud & celebratory day at American Legion Forest Hills, Continental Post #1424 honoring Commander Michael Arcati’s promotion to Captain in the U.S. Navy! Congratulations, Captain Arcati—thank you for your extraordinary service to our community and our country. Also, happy 50th birthday, Captain!
A great afternoon in Elmhurst at the Indonesian Gastronomy Association Bazaar! I got to try President Obama's favorite Indonesian dish and plenty of other incredible bites😋
For those without power needing to charge devices, several Queens Public Library locations are open until 5 p.m. today, including the Central Library in Jamaica, Far Rockaway, Jackson Heights, Flushing, Glen Oaks, Hunters Point, and Kew Gardens Hills. (2/2)
My team and I are monitoring power outages in Maspeth. We are in contact with ConEd as they continuing working to restore power in the affected areas. (1/2)
Proud to deliver $550k in federal funding for a new playground and splash pad at the Pomonok Houses in Queens! Our kids deserve a fun and safe space to play and grow. Now that we’ve officially broken ground, I can’t wait to see this project come to life right in our community.
Democrats are ready to make these commonsense policies law. It’s time for the GOP to join us.
On National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we #WearOrange for the families and community forever changed by the terror & tragedy of gun violence.
Policies like universal background checks, red flag laws, safe storage requirements & restrictions on civilian access to enhanced body armor can save lives.
It was such a joy celebrating the moms in our community with the Community Center Services Organization in Elmhurst at their Mother’s Day event! As a mom of two boys myself, I know how rewarding motherhood can be, and I’m so proud to celebrate all of them.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the First Baptist Church of Flushing for the resource fair this weekend! It was wonderful connecting with community members and the local organizations that support them.
Happy Pride, Queens! 🌈
This month and every month, we’re showing up loud and proud for our LGBTQ+ neighbors and celebrating the joy, strength, and brilliance they bring to our community. As a proud Equality Caucus member, I’m all in on the fight for equality, justice, and acceptance.
Acting AG Todd Blanche gave me his “word” that DOJ is dropping the “anti-weaponization” slush fund—but wouldn’t put it in writing.
We can’t take these people at their word. I will use every tool in Congress to ensure taxpayer dollars are not used to bankroll the President’s agenda.
My legislation would require the Department of Justice to do this by advancing community-based approaches to addressing hate crimes and investing in a safer future for all of us.
Hate crimes are at record highs in the United States, and the federal government should be using every tool at its disposal to help victims and protect communities.
