It’s Period Poverty Awareness Week.
Menstruation is normal—but access to essential products still isn’t.
That’s why I introduced the Menstrual Equity for All Act to expand access and affordability.
Periods are natural. Access should be too.
LIRR workers are indispensable and deserve a fair wage. I urge both parties to continue negotiating to reach a fair bargain.
I hope an agreement can be reached. All working men and women deserve a fair wage, and I hope both sides will return to the table and find a solution as quickly as possible.
I'm holding another passport day for constituents who need to apply for or renew a passport. Pleased to partner w/Sen. Michael Gianaris, AM Steven Raga, & CM Julie Won to bring this event to the Woodside PO on Saturday. I encourage local residents to take advantage of this easy & convenient service.
I’m hosting a telephone town hall on Tuesday, May 19, at 7:00pm EST! Join me to ask questions & learn more about what I'm doing to confront the challenges New Yorkers are facing.

In the aftermath, I helped introduce legislation to restrict civilian access to enhanced body armor—continuing the fight to protect our communities and first responders. I’m grateful to @reptimkennedy.bsky.social for carrying this work forward.
We stand with Buffalo today and always.
We remember the victims and honor the heroism of Officer Aaron Salter Jr., the security guard on duty that day who gave his life protecting others.
Four years ago today, a white supremacist, armed with a weapon of war and wearing enhanced body armor, killed 10 people and injured 3 others in a targeted attack on a predominantly Black community in Buffalo.
Proud to see their impact growing across NYC and helping more kids chase their dreams.
Stopped by Dancing Dreams in Queens—amazing to see kids in dance classes, teens stepping up as volunteers, and everyone getting the chance to perform.Dancing Dreams opens the door for children with medical or physical challenges to experience dance and shine on stage.
ConEd Customer Assistance Day: 5/15
I’m partnering w/CM Sandra Ung to host a ConEd Customer Assistance Day on Friday, May 15, from 10am–3pm! Learn how to read your bill, understand your rates, sign up for a payment plan, & explore assistance programs, including options for seniors. RSVP required.
Proud to have secured over $3M in federal funding for Queens College! I visited to see the impact firsthand—expanding their tech incubator to support local entrepreneurs, launching a nanofabrication research hub to help detect cancer cells, & building the first cybersecurity program in Queens.

Proud to celebrate United Federation of Teachers and Council of School Supervisors & Administrators members at my union appreciation event. Our educators and school leaders are the backbone of NYC, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure they have the support and benefits they deserve.

My Safe Check-ins for Immigrants Act would ensure a safe, secure way for people to meet requirements & pursue legal status without fear. (2/2)
ICE agents have been causing chaos in our communities for months. Law-abiding immigrants are being detained at routine check-ins—that’s not enforcement, it’s intimidation. (1/2)
This is the relief Americans need.
Utility bills are too high and they're still rising. They’re up 13% nationwide under Trump.
Democrats’ Affordability Agenda cracks down on utility monopolies, cuts wasteful spending, and prioritizes cost-saving investments. It will put about $500/year back in families’ pockets.
Being a mom to my two boys is easily my favorite job! Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, and caregivers who hold our communities together.
Today, we celebrate the strength, sacrifice, and love you show every day. Thank you for everything you do. 💐
They deserve more than just our thanks, but real support and the resources they need to succeed.
Thank you to all the teachers making a difference every day. 🍎 (2/2)
