Just hours after the Supreme Court rejected unlawful tariffs that hit working families with higher prices, Trump unveiled a new 10% tariff. He will stop at nothing to raise costs on the American people.
BREAKING: President Donald Trump said Friday he will sign an executive order imposing a new 10% “global tariff,” hours after the Supreme Court struck down his sweeping “reciprocal” import duties in a major rebuke of his trade agenda.
Today’s decision is a victory for the American people, the rule of law, and our standing in the global economy. Congress writes trade law, and today’s ruling restores that fundamental truth. Democrats fought hard for this win for the American people, but our work to lower costs doesn’t stop here.
🔴 BREAKING: The highest court in the land has affirmed what we have long argued: Trump never had the authority to unilaterally jack up costs by hundreds of dollars on the American people. Democrats will never stop fighting for the rule of law and to lower costs for workers and families.
This is why Dems have been making the case that Trump’s tariffs are illegal. Our economic policies should be rooted in credible data and facts, not the ego of one man who refuses to admit his policies are failing the American people.
ICYMI: I joined the Spencer community to celebrate a $960,000 earmark I secured for their sewer collection systems project. This investment will ensure families, businesses, and residents in Spencer continue to have access to safe, reliable water. Read more⤵️ neal.house.gov/2026/01/27/n...
For months, Democrats warned about Republican cuts to Medicaid and Medicare. Now we’re seeing the consequences. Like hospitals across MA-01, Baystate depends on this funding to care for seniors, working families, & vulnerable residents. Without it, jobs will be lost, & health care costs will rise.
Wishing a blessed Ash Wednesday to all who observe. As Christians around the world mark the beginning of Lent, may this season be one of reflection and renewal.
Happy Lunar New Year, MA‑01! Wishing everyone happiness, good health, and prosperity in the year ahead. As we welcome the new year, we honor the significant contributions of Asian communities throughout the country and the rich traditions that strengthen our nation.
Rev. Jesse Jackson dedicated his life to fighting for a better America. From the Civil Rights Movement to the Affordable Care Act, he championed justice and equality, paving the way for generations of leaders who carry that work forward. My thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family.
BREAKING: Rev. Jesse Jackson, civil rights icon and two-time presidential candidate, dies at 84.
If the president can sue the IRS for $10B over the disclosure of his information, these victims should too. Chairman Smith must immediately bring Acting Commissioner Bessent before @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social to answer for this egregious violation of taxpayer privacy.
This was not an accident. This was not a “mistake”. This is exactly the kind of outcome the Trump Administration was aiming for. The legality of it was never their concern.
The special bond between 🇺🇸 & 🇬🇧 reflects generations of a shared commitment to prosperity and peace. I look forward to working with the UK’s newly appointed Ambassador to the US, Christian Turner, to preserve this partnership and unlock new opportunities for cooperation between our people.
Under my leadership, House Democrats paved the way for lower drug prices through negotiating. Instead of building on that, Trump launched an all style, no substance website that's sure to benefit his own pockets without lowering your costs. Patients need lower prices, not more smoke and mirrors.
In Massachusetts, Bay Staters spent an average of over $2,200 more during Trump's first year. So long as this administration continues to attack health care and pursue reckless, illegal tariff policies, hardworking families will keep paying the price.
More than a year in, Trump’s Day One promise to lower costs is still just a campaign promise. During his first year, people spent over $1,600 more across the country.
I'm proud to have secured over $14 million in Community Project Funds for MA-01. From North Adams to Oxford, these projects will strengthen infrastructure, expand educational opportunities, and improve quality of life for families and businesses across western and central Mass.
