Operation Metro Surge is state-sanctioned racial profiling used as a tool of political intimidation. But Somali Minnesotans aren’t intimidated, we’re brave and resilient, and our neighbors have our back. We don’t cower to bullies.
Trump’s obsession with me is beyond weird. He needs serious help. Since he has no economic policies to tout, he’s resorting to regurgitating bigoted lies instead. He continues to be a national embarrassment.
Trump: "Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is. With her little turban. I love her. She comes in, does nothing but bitch ... we ought to get her the hell out ... she's here illegally." The crowd in Pennsylvania then starts chanting "send her back!"
It is disgusting that Trump’s hateful words of calling Somali Americans “garbage” have continued to go unchecked by members of the Republican Party. These are US citizens he is denigrating. We have a duty as Americans to call out his hateful rhetoric.

"It is a creepy obsession." Rep. Ilhan Omar responds to Trump's personal attacks. "It's actually very frightening to have that level of attention from somebody who should be focused on doing the business of the American people and not just creepily watching what one member of Congress is doing."

Thank you @ilhanmn.bsky.social for making it plain. The Somali community is vibrant and will not be intimidated by these shameful, cowardly attacks.
The president fails to realize how deeply Somali Americans love this country. We are doctors, teachers, and elected leaders working to make our country better. We will not let Trump intimidate or debilitate us. My op-ed: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/04/o...
The president’s obsession with the Somali community and me is really unhealthy and creepy. He is trying to deflect from his failures and sinking approval ratings. Sorry, Trump, we all see through your attempts to hide from your broken promises.
His obsession with me is creepy. I hope he gets the help he desperately needs.
Trump on Walz: "You look at what he's done with Somalia where Somalia, which is barely a country -- they have no anything, they just run around killing each other. When I see somebody like Ilhan Omar, I always watch her, for years I've watched her complain about our Constitution ... "
Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim was finally released after being unjustly imprisoned for over nine months in an Israeli prison. My heart is filled with gratitude for every single person who spoke out and fought to bring him home.
Screenshot of Jasper Nathaniel’s tweet: “I have some incredible news to share. Today, after 9.5 agonizing months, Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim was released from Israel’s Ofer Prison and into his father’s arms. The Israeli military had no right to take him in the first place, and the family credits the relentless grassroots campaign that kept up the diplomatic pressure to free him. He’s in rough shape, but okay, and on his way to the hospital for treatment. Once he’s discharged, his mom, dad, brother, and sisters will have his favorite meal and a very belated 16th-birthday celebration waiting for him at home. I’ll share more details soon.

Now that Mohammed is free, the family is asking all his supporters to keep fighting for the hundreds of Palestinian children still unjustly trapped in Israeli military prisons.

The family requests privacy for now.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone — lots to be thankful for.”
I am a citizen and so are majority of Somalis in America. Good luck celebrating a policy change that really doesn’t have much impact on the Somalis you love to hate. We are here to stay 💁🏽‍♀️
Every single day ICE agents are threatening people and terrorizing communities. We’ve seen ICE pepper spray babies, disappear US citizens, slam distraught mothers and fathers to the ground—now they’re terrorizing St. Paul. ICE is out of control and should be abolished.
Federal agents from ICE, DEA and the FBI raided a St. Paul paper distributor Tuesday morning. Hundreds of community members responded in protest, clashing with officers. At least two people were detained by authorities, according to a witness.
