She lies. In October, Border Patrol shot a woman in Chicago, after ramming her car with their vehicles. Noem and DHS then lied, saying the woman caused the collision (a claim the body cam footage contradicted!).
The administration has since dropped all charges against the woman.
Her cruelty knows no bounds. Again and again, Noem claims operations like Midway Blitz target “the worst of the worst” — but that isn’t the case. Preschool teachers, soccer moms, and even U.S. citizens, like Renee Nicole Good from Minnesota, have been abused, abducted, and murdered. No one is safe.
Congress must unite and end Noem’s reign of terror.
I'm planning to support @robinkelly.house.gov articles of impeachment for these reasons (🧵)
At a time when Congress has failed to secure health care and housing for the American people, bipartisan agreements like this one are vital. I’m proud to have pushed for this increase to protect survivors of domestic violence during @democrats-appropriations.house.gov hearings this fall.
Last night, I voted yes on a bill to increase funding for the Violence Against Women Act by $7 MILLION!
More below!
On Jan. 1, over 20 million Americans saw their health insurance costs spike. After months of stalling, the House has finally passed a Dem proposal to extend ACA health care subsidies.
The Senate must take up and pass this legislation immediately.
DHS is deploying the same playbook in Minneapolis that they used in Chicago- assaulting, murdering, and lying. I've already demanded an investigation into their actions in Chicago. The Republicans in charge of Congress need to start doing their job and get some answers for the American people.
Hegseth continues his petty attacks on Senator Mark Kelly. Now he's trying to demote Captain Kelly. Nothing Hegseth does can take away that Kelly is an American hero who served our nation for 25 years as a Navy Captain, an astronaut, and now as a U.S. Senator.

For hundreds of years, many knew the 6th of January as Three Kings Day, or the Feast of the Epiphany.
Happy Three Kings Day to all who celebrate!👑
The last thing the American people want is to be involved in another forever war. My statement on Trump's unconstitutional attack on Venezuela:
163 years ago, on New Year’s Day, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation — an essential first step towards ending slavery.
We must remember our history, as well as continue to work to improve these United States🇺🇸
Happy New Year!🎉 May 2026 bring health and happiness to you and your loved ones.
2025 was a whirlwind—and I couldn’t have done it without you.
Let’s take a look back at everything we did this year⏰⏮️
@housedemocrats.bsky.social want to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. We just need 4 Republicans to be brave enough to join us.
This extension would allow Illinois to open up a special enrollment period, so even more Americans can get the healthcare they need.
Congratulations to Arnav from Fremd High School for winning this year's Congressional App Challenge! Arnav developed Oculare AI to help the millions of people who lack access to ophthalmologists and diagnostic equipment.
And thank you to our student judges from Harper College!
Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Illinois has cost taxpayers $12.8 MILLION, according to an independent study from @ips-dc.org.
Our federal government should be funding education and health care for Americans, not abusing our military for political stunts.
Happy Kwanzaa!❤️💚
As many Chicagoans celebrate the seven principles this week, let us reflect on the strength of family, community, and shared values that guide us forward.
Merry Christmas to all Chicago, and to all a goodnight!🎄🎁🎉
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!
Nearly HALF of all Americans are struggling to find food, health care, and housing that they can afford, according to a recent poll in @politico.com.
Trump’s economy of #ScroogePolitics is bleeding Americans dry – right before Christmas!
As Vice Chair of the @equality.house.gov, I promise to continue fighting for all our LGBTQ+ service members and veterans. Every American who is willing and able to serve our country should be allowed to.
