The United States must commit to rejoining and upholding our duties as climate and clean energy leaders. But, rejoining isn’t just about committing to a cleaner future—it’s about ensuring that every community is protected and can thrive.
As a science professional and public servant, I’ve seen firsthand the impacts of drought, wildfire, flooding and extreme weather events. Withdrawing from the Paris Accord in the midst of a climate crisis is a mistake.
10 years ago, 195 countries agreed to join the Paris Climate Accord. As of today, the United States is the only country to withdraw.
Turns out allowing pesticide companies to put PFAS and forever chemicals on our food is a really, really bad idea.
I introduced the TALENTS Act this week, to codify & protect the PMF Program which has been a vital pipeline to service & leadership. As a program alum, I know the value of investing in public service leadership. We must continue to recruit & retain the best & brightest for decades to come!
For almost 50 years, the Presidential Management Fellowship Program (PMF) has recruited thousands of leaders to the federal civil service to serve this country. But, that changed when Trump tried to unilaterally terminate the program earlier this year.
To my friends across the aisle who control the House—you have FIVE DAYS to get the ACA extension done. This is it—before millions face the reality of outrageous price hikes to their insurance. Stop messing around and get it done!
American lives are on the line.
But, guess what? This House GOP plan doesn’t include a single policy to save health insurance for millions of Americans that will face a cliff on January 1st. Not one.
and how we are fighting back against bills that are trying to gut environmental laws & open your lands and sacred sites to mining and drilling.
We cannot let this happen. Grateful to be in this fight with Rep. Adelita Grijalva to protect our people and our precious lands!

Every day we are fighting to protect our public lands and sacred sites! We’re here to talk about why protecting Oak Flat, Chaco Canyon, and other sacred sites is so important—

Sending my prayers to everyone in Providence and the Brown University community 💔🙏
Whether it’s behind the scenes in the Capitol or out and about in the community—we love our work! Taking a moment today to thank everyone in the community who makes our work possible. And, sharing a few behind the scenes photos from the last few weeks! Thank you! 🙏❤️
This is why we have coequal branches of government.
The people have spoken, and ensuring communities have funding to respond to natural disasters is important. Period.
ICYMI: Hi, friendly reminder from the Courts and Congress to the Admin—you can’t just cancel funding Congress has appropriated to help communities recover from natural disasters.
It’s been a long week! But we made it. Lots to report on the Epstein investigation, the latest release from the estate, and what happens leading up to next Friday, Dec 19th, when the Admin is required to release the files. ⬇️

Healthcare is a human right, and we are working to ensure our communities can access the healthcare they need.
Today I testified in the Energy & Commerce Committee to help advance our priorities for New Mexico. We must ensure that our communities have the tools and support they need!
Today I voted to advance a House impeachment resolution. This Administration has committed multiple potentially impeachable offenses.
Impeachment requires investigations, hearings, and votes—and the majority won’t even pass a healthcare bill. But accountability must come.
For too long, mining companies have paid much less than they should have for their usage of our public lands.
That’s why I introduced the CLAIM Act, which would stop these giveaways and ensure companies pay responsibly.
Our public lands belong to us, not the companies that seek to destroy them.
Tonight we voted on the NDAA. In normal times, this is a bipartisan national security bill, but as we all know, these are not normal times ⬇️

Trump is at it again—this time taking bids to bulldoze historic federal buildings in DC and repaint the Executive Office building. But, we’re here to tell him {tiny} hands off our history! Hands off our heritage! And hands off our buildings!
