For too long, mining companies have paid much less than they should have for their usage of our public lands.
That’s why I introduced the CLAIM Act, which would stop these giveaways and ensure companies pay responsibly.
Our public lands belong to us, not the companies that seek to destroy them.

Today, we mark the ratification of the 13th Amendment—one of the most consequential steps in our country’s ongoing journey towards freedom and justice.
It certainly cannot be an accident that on the eve of the 13th Amendment’s anniversary, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority announced it would revisit birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
They have no plan - not even concepts of a plan - on how to fix it.
Time is running out! It’s time to step up and get to work for the American people!
