Breaking news!
They 👏 are 👏 breaking 👏 the 👏 law.
And, they know it. If you are a federal worker, please know: mass firings during the government shutdown are ILLEGAL and the courts have issued a restraining order to stop them. We will fight back at every turn.
Breaking news! 15 days into a government shutdown, and Trump has promised a $40 billion bailout to the Argentinian government on the backs of the American people using YOUR taxpayer dollars, while threatening to cut off food assistance to American families. ⬇️
We’re baaaack! Again! But the House GOP lockout continues. Regardless, we show up—because we know the assignment and are here to fight for a solution to reopen the government and save healthcare for millions.

We will not be broken! It’s Week 3 of the Shutdown and lockout of the House, but I am headed back to DC. Let’s talk about what’s happening and what it means for democracy and power. ⬇️

A beautiful and deeply meaningful weekend back home—celebrating the people, places, and traditions that make New Mexico who we are. We are strong, resilient, and resolute as we head back to DC to continue the fight for our communities! 🙏
Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!! In New Mexico, every day is Indigenous People’s day! 🪶💕
It’s Friday! And we’re here with Bad Bunny talking Super Bowl Halftime Show. Here’s what’s up 🐾. #BadBunny #SuperBowl #HalfTimeShow
Shutting down the House is not a strategy. It’s an abdication. A failure. And yes, an embarrassment. Even MTG is calling out the GOP for shutting down the government.

Oversight Democrats have one message for Speaker Johnson: Stop the Shutdown, Release the Files!

I’m here with @repstansbury.bsky.social fighting on Capitol Hill to protect federal workers. Don’t get it twisted – furloughed federal workers will get their backpay when this shutdown is over. It’s the law. We’ll continue to work together and end the Republican shutdown.
It’s week two of the shutdown, and House Republicans are still MIA.
While Speaker Johnson keeps the House shut down, Dems continue to show up. If they won’t lead, we will. Because, that’s what we were elected to do!

I’m holding a virtual Town Hall TOMORROW at 5:30 pm MT to answer all of your shutdown questions, and give you the latest on what’s happening in D.C.
I’ll be streaming on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. Join me!
From every corner of the country, Dems showed up for work—traveling long days to do our jobs, to reopen the government, to save healthcare, to support our communities, and to save our democracy. Because, that is what we do. But, where are our GOP colleagues? Nowhere to be found.
It’s Tuesday afternoon, around 4 pm – and there is literally no one here in the House of Representatives. Not a soul on what should be a busy day.
And, why? Because the GOP has shut it down. Literally.

A little pep talk as we head back to DC this morning. I know it’s scary and overwhelming watching what’s happening right now—but history tells us we must keep showing up and doing our part—which is why I’m headed back to DC today!
A truly joyful several days in NM—seeing our Legislature pass critical legislation to protect New Mexicans—and spending time in our communities, hearing from federal workers and communities, and supporting our food banks. This is energy we need to fuel our fight as we head back to DC!
As the sun sets on this beautiful Fall day in NM—I’m gearing up to head back to DC in the morning for the continued fight to reopen the government, protect our healthcare, and support our federal workers. Grateful to be surrounded this weekend by the things that remind us what we’re fighting for. ❤️
At our town hall on Friday, hundreds turned out asking the same questions we're all asking: Will we get paid? Will we keep our healthcare? Will our democracy survive this chaos?
I hear you. I see you. And that is why we are fighting to protect our democracy and our communities.
Didn’t make it to our government shutdown Town Hall on Friday? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
