I met with Great Lakes leaders today to discuss keeping our ports strong and our waterways moving. Our ports are critical to West Michigan jobs, trade, and protecting the Great Lakes we all depend on.

As data centers expand, we have to make sure communities aren’t left footing the bill. I pressed the Army Corps on how large-scale data centers are impacting our water resources — because protecting West Michigan’s water must go hand in hand with economic growth.

Affordable child care is a workforce issue. Today, I spoke with chamber leaders from across the country about my Tri-Share Child Care Pilot Act and how shared-cost solutions help employers compete and families stay in the workforce.
Today I visited Pine Rest’s new Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health to learn more about how they’re expanding access to mental health care for children and teens across West Michigan. Grateful for the clinicians and staff who show up every day to support families when they need it most.
