As we honor the giants of the civil rights movement, I'm proud to remember my friend and colleague John Lewis. Walking with him across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, where he was brutally beaten for demanding equal rights, was one of the most profound experiences of my life.
The president and his administration are making Americans less safe and putting our military members in harm's way for oil. I'm voting NO on any funding for ICE or any war for oil in Venezuela.
On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we honor the fight and the dream that helped transform our nation and advance civil rights for all Americans. While we celebrate his legacy, we know there is still work to do to ensure equality for all.
If you need help with passports and visas, veterans benefits, IRS issues, agricultural issues, small business assistance, immigration, Medicare and Medicaid, or if you are facing any other problem navigating the federal government, my team is ready to help.
WEDNESDAY: Members of my staff will be in Winters at Steady Eddy’s Coffee House from 12 to 2 PM to discuss issues impacting you and our community.
The Department of Justice has only released 1 percent of the Epstein files. Their deadline was in December to release ALL the files. That’s unacceptable. The DOJ needs to follow the law.

Trade policy that impacts American families and businesses should be decided by Congress, not dictated unilaterally.
President Trump’s latest tariff threat is going to hurt our economy. Congress has the constitutional authority over tariffs, but Congressional Republicans refuse to stand up to the president.
As a combat veteran, I will keep fighting for the men and women who served our country.
Our veterans have earned access to quality care and the resources promised through the VA. Instead, this administration is making it harder for them to get the care they earned. Cutting 157 jobs at the San Francisco VA Medical Center will only make access more difficult.
When we speak up, we get results. Thanks to pressure from Congress and the public, mental health funding this administration tried to rescind was reinstated. I’ll never stop fighting to protect mental health care.
American families are paying the price for the President’s half-baked “concepts of a plan” and the GOP taking $1 trillion out of our healthcare system.
The President’s healthcare plan fails to help families struggling with spiking healthcare premiums. Health savings accounts aren’t a substitute for insurance when a loved one has a heart attack or cancer.
My Santa Rosa district office is experiencing issues with our phones that are expected to be addressed by the end of the day on Tuesday, January 20. If you are in need of assistance, please call my Napa district office at (707) 226-9898 or my Woodland district office at (530) 753-3501.
The bipartisan war powers resolution I coauthored to stop this President from dragging us into a war for oil in Venezuela could come up for a vote next week. This is important. We will not send our service members into harm's way in Venezuela, Greenland, or anywhere else for oil.
We need to pass legislation like my American Affordability Act to bring down costs for everything, including health care, housing, childcare, and everyday essentials.
The average American family paid $310 more for groceries in 2025 than they did in 2024. This president promised to lower grocery prices on day one, but families are paying more instead. That’s unacceptable.
If you need help with passports and visas, veterans benefits, IRS issues, agricultural issues, small business assistance, immigration, Medicare and Medicaid, or if you are facing any other problem navigating the federal government, my team is ready to help.
TODAY: Members of my staff will be in Middletown and the Middletown Senior Center from 11 AM to 1 PM to discuss issues impacting you and our community.
Elections aren't optional. They're fundamental to our democracy. This is crazy talk designed to make people anxious and cause problems. I believe he has serious issues. www.forbes.com/sites/alison...
