Great to meet with #HI02 Rep. @tokuda.house.gov, who sponsored the Stop Illegal Campaign Coordination Act and has been a consistent voice for accountability in Washington. We’re excited to keep working with her on this critical issue.

Mahalo to all who came out to my Waiʻanae town hall on Saturday. Over the past weeks, I’ve held a town hall in every county of Hawaiʻi. From Pāhoa to Kapaʻa, I appreciate every one of you who came out to share your concerns. To stay updated on town halls, visit buff.ly/HlxO5mZ.
Honored to present awards at NVMC to Leonard Oka, Nelson Okumura, and Hawai’i Alpha Delta Kappa-Gamma for their contributions to Legacy, Philanthropy, and Leadership. Mahalo nui for your critical work in preserving our history & opening doors for future generations to excel. You are an inspiration!
Our transgender ʻohana are being vilified, just for being who they are. We should be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of leaders like Kumu Hina Wong-Kalu. Despite this administration's attempts to erase them—our trans ʻohana deserve to feel like they belong, because they do.
Trump's tariffs are reckless & short-sighted. Small businesses worry they'll have to close, consumers are facing higher prices, and 401k accounts have fallen. Worse, this damage is self-inflicted. How is instigating a global trade war & raising prices for our ʻohana making America great again??
Packing up to go home because Speaker Johnson would rather cancel all work this week and send the House home rather than let a new mom who gave birth yesterday vote remotely. New moms belong in Congress and deserve the ability to do their jobs.
Our trans ʻohana are not a debate, their existence is not up for discussion. Stories like Kapaemahu remind us that gender diversity is not only part of our history—it's also a vital aspect of our culture that should be honored. Trans rights are human rights. #TransDayofVisibility
To have this place of peace violated by Trump & Musk as they weaponize federal law enforcement to target USIP over the will of Congress is an insult to every American who has fought & died for our freedoms. We cannot allow them to continue this reckless ransacking of public & private organizations.
Honored to be the only Democratic freshman recognized by the CEL as one of the top 10 most effective lawmakers last Congress. Regardless of the majority in Congress, I remain committed to working across the aisle to ensure that the federal government is delivering for our people back home.
Mahalo to the American Medical Association & American Nurses Association for joining our Bipartisan Rural Health Caucus to discuss health workforce shortages in our rural communities. We will continue working across the aisle so all of our people can get the care they deserve!
I joined 61 other House Democrats urging Social Security not to cut phone service. This won’t protect individuals or reduce fraud. Instead, it will cut off a critical lifeline to our kūpuna in remote areas that need to keep their prescription filled, a roof over their head, & food on their tables.
If you know an artistic high school student living in Congressional District 2, let them know I'm accepting submissions for the Congressional Art Competition. The winning art will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol! For more info, visit bit.ly/tokudaartcon... or call my office at (808) 582-9843.
Joined HGEA and Spotlight HNN to provide updates about my work in Congress to protect our critical social service programs, agencies, & federal workers against the Musk-Trump Administration. Taking care of our keiki & kūpuna is not "government waste." Mahalo for having me!
Mahalo to all who attended my Maui Town Hall yesterday. Over 400 people came out to voice their concerns for Hawaiʻi & share stories about how they've been personally impacted by the Trump Administration. I feel your frustration—and we will continue to fight together to protect our communities.
Our communities in Hawaiʻi & across the country are terrified by the Trump Admin's cuts. People have lost their jobs & are afraid they'll lose Medicaid, Social Security, & the ability to take care of loved ones. These cuts are deeply personal—Republicans need to stop hiding, show up & listen.
Everything about the Dept. of Ed made my life possible. I wouldn't be in Congress without the opportunities provided by public schools & teachers who believed in me. I'm fighting against all attacks on public education. Books over bombs. Teachers over tax breaks for billionaires. DOE over DOGE.
