Educator Amanda Heim teaches at Unity Braxton Middle School and is a recipient of the 2025–26 Outstanding Educator Award.
Every day, educators like Amanda make a lasting impact in the classroom and help shape the future of our students.
Thank you, Amanda, for all you do for our community!
For more than three decades, Pamela Oakes, a special education teacher, and Linda Jesionka, a teacher assistant, have taught side by side.
This World Teachers’ Day, I’m proud to celebrate educators like Pamela and Linda who go above and beyond to ensure every student can learn, grow, and thrive.
October 5th is World Teachers’ Day. I’m proud to say that some of the best educators in the country are in VA-07!
One of those teachers is Brooke LeVecchi, the new principal of Woodbridge Area Elementary School.
I’m grateful for her dedication to our students.
Eight years ago, Virginia resident and journalist Jamal Khashoggi was brutally murdered.
I joined colleagues in Virginia's Democratic delegation in renewing our call for Trump to release the transcript of his 2019 call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman following Khashoggi’s murder.
The VA needs to be able to retain the medical professionals our veterans depend on.
But right now, VA doctors are subject to a salary cap, and the VA can only waive that cap 300 times nationwide.
I’m pushing for solutions that give the VA the tools it needs to compete for talented providers. (3/3)
The Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center needs more staff, plain and simple.
The dedicated people working there need support, and our veterans deserve timely, reliable care.
As I told CNN, I’ve been fighting to fix these staffing shortages, and I’m not letting up. (2/3)
My constituent Mike is a Marine veteran who went to the Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center to receive the quality, timely care he earned through his service.
Instead, he saw four different primary care doctors in just 18 months because of staffing shortages.
Listen to Mike's story below 👇
Today is National Manufacturing Day and we’re celebrating the hardworking Virginians who keep our economy moving.
I’ll keep fighting to invest in American manufacturing, support good-paying jobs, and make sure Virginia remains a leader in making things right here at home.
The Fredericksburg VA Health Care Center is the nation’s largest VA outpatient clinic.
Yet the parking lot of this facility continues to sit empty while veterans struggle to access the care they need.
I’m calling on the VA to take every possible measure to fully staff this facility.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This month, we stand together to raise awareness, support survivors, and remind our community that help is available.
On Tuesday, Tarazha from my team presented a congratulatory letter to the new president of the GFWC Woodbridge Woman’s Club, Pam Montgomery.
Congratulations, Pam, and thank you to the GFWC Woodbridge Woman’s Club for your continued service and commitment to the Woodbridge community!
Anyone who has served in uniform knows one thing: hope is not a plan.
Military decisions require clear objectives, a coherent strategy, and a defined path forward.
The president rushed us into war with Iran with none of these. Now, the American people are paying the price.
The Salvadorans who call VA-07 home are our friends, neighbors, and essential workers. Now, they’re living in fear and uncertainty about what comes next after their TPS expired.
I introduced legislation to protect Salvadorans who have built their lives here.

Rey from my team attended a retirement ceremony for Commander Robert Lusk Jr. and presented him with a letter of thanks in recognition of his dedicated service.
Commander Lusk leaves behind a legacy of commitment, leadership, and service to our community. I wish him the best in this next chapter.
I joined Secretary of the Commonwealth Candi Mundon King and retired Fairfax County Deputy Sheriff Josh King for a Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Memorial Walk and community blood drive honoring their daughter, Candis King, who lost her battle with sickle cell disease last year.
Congratulations to Belmont Farm Distillery and Brewery on being named Distillery of the Year at the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association’s 2026 Ordinary Awards.
Proud to have Belmont Farm in our community and to celebrate this well-deserved recognition!
During National Recovery Month, we celebrate those in recovery and work to end the stigma surrounding substance use and addiction.
Everyone deserves access to the care, resources, and support they need to recover and thrive.
