Musk and Trump got rid of one fifth of workers at the World Trade Center Health Program, which provides care to 9/11 first responders and survivors. ny1.com/nyc/all-boro... Those fired include people like Anthony Gardner, pictured below, whose brother was killed on 9/11. Disgusting beyond belief.
Anthony Gardner's (L) brother Harvey (R) was killed in the North Tower on 9/11. Recently, Anthony has worked for the World Trade Center Health Program. On Saturday, he got a termination notice, part of what 9/11 community advocates say is an "inhumane" 20% staffing reduction.
As the Trump Administration’s draconian and cruel immigration plans instill fear in our communities, I met with local immigration leaders to discuss strategies and opportunities to ensure the rights of our immigrant communities are protected.
Days after "accidentally" firing nuclear safety workers, Trump and Musk have "accidentally" fired the people racing to protect the American public from bird flu. This is stupid beyond belief. A better president would intentionally fire DOGE and everyone involved with it.
USDA says it accidentally fired officials working on bird flu and is trying to rehire them In a statement, an Agriculture Department spokesperson told NBC News that officials are "working to swiftly rectify the situation." www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...
Hagan Scotten’s resignation letter says it all. Dropping the charges against Eric Adams to turn the Mayor of New York into a lackey of the President is a staggeringly corrupt perversion of justice and democracy.
Danielle R. Sassoon, Manhattan’s acting U.S. attorney, resigned on Thursday rather than obey a Justice Department order that she drop a corruption case against New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams, that she had championed, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.
We're getting more calls now than at any time since I've been in Congress. I'm helping out on the phones, talking to constituents about what I'm doing to stand up for the country and federal workers under attack by Trump and Elon Musk. I welcome your calls, I am listening, and your voice matters.
We demand action to improve aviation safety after last month's air collision. Trump must lift hiring freezes, restore frozen funding, hire more air traffic controllers, and reinstate the DOT Inspector General and safety personnel. The status quo is unacceptable. beyer.house.gov/news/documen...
Resharing this following the latest court ruling. My original open letter to federal employees weighing Elon Musk and Donald Trump's "deferred resignation" offer is here: substack.com/home/post/p-...
I sent a letter to federal employees as they weigh so-called “deferred resignation” offers. Since, a federal judge has temporarily paused these offers but it's possible they'll ultimately proceed. Here is my message to federal employees trying to figure out what to do: youtube.com/shorts/bFAcy...
This is an absolute scandal. Trump and Marco Rubio abandoned American workers and their families abroad, delaying waivers to provide for their safe return to the United States. As these civil servants lost their possessions, housing, and money, Elon Musk was slandering them with bogus accusations.
Via Robbie Gramer at Politico, in a legal filing a USAID employee details trying to leave Kinshasa, Congo with their family and leaving their possessions behidn amid panic created by Trump and Musk's sudden shutdown of the agency
As Musk and Trump distract their followers with minuscule supposed ‘savings’ from mass layoffs, they are preparing to shower vastly more money on the rich. None of this is about saving money, it is about Musk and Trump enriching themselves while cutting services Americans depend on. 5/5
Musk personally profits from government contracts. He’s using a position he bought with $250+ million in donations to increase his own power and wealth. Turning every hiring decision over to him when he won’t disclose his business holdings and investments to the country is ridiculously corrupt. 4/
Congress passed laws to create a professional, career federal workforce hired and promoted based on skill and merit, not on political loyalty. Trump’s illegal purge is coupled with an illegal requirement that Elon Musk and his team of political commissars at "DOGE" vet all potential hires. 3/
Federal workers and their expertise are vital to Americans’ health and security. They work everyday to protect us from disease, crime, and threats foreign and domestic and care for our veterans. Mass layoffs of federal workers will damage these and other vital services Americans depend on. 2/
