Dr. Parham has inspired & empowered generations of students, and helped to make California State University, Dominguez Hills, a launching pad for students’ dreams. Thank you, Dr. Parham, for all that you have done for our students, & wishing you the best of luck in this next chapter of your journey.
It was a privilege to honor Dr. Thomas A. Parham, President of California State University, Dominguez Hills, on the House Floor, as he retires after an extraordinary career in higher education.
A very merry Christmas to all who celebrate! May the holiday season be filled with warmth, light, and love with your families.
On Christmas Eve, we come together to share in the gifts, food, and laughter. Hope you all enjoy a night with your loved ones — ¡Feliz Nochebuena!
Today’s the eighth day of Hanukkah! Wishing all who celebrate a night filled with warmth and light as the Festival of Lights comes to an end.
Unlike CBS News, Frontline PBS ran their report recently on stories from some of the migrants sent to the notorious CECOT prison in El Salvador. Trump & his enablers can’t erase the truth about what happened. Watch the PBS piece.

Our Croatian communities helped to build San Pedro into the thriving town it is today, and I am proud to be able to represent them and help promote bilateral cultural cooperation between the US and Croatia. Can’t wait to have Croatia House in San Pedro for the LA’28 Olympics!
Delighted to have celebrated Komiska Noc earlier this month with our Croatian American Club in #SanPedro and Renee Pea, the Consul General of Croatia in #LA! We celebrated nearly 40 US citizens as they took their oath for dual citizenship.
The money for Trump’s “Warrior Dividends” has already been approved by Congress for troops so they can afford housing and basic living expenses.
Trump is NOT rewarding our service members with new bonuses, he’s just renaming funds that troops were already going to receive to score political points.
Despite bipartisan support for a vote on @housedemocrats.bsky.social’ bill to extend the health care tax credits for 20 million Americans, Republican leadership refused to hold a vote before premiums spike on January 1st. Shame on them.
Americans should have peace during the holidays, knowing the cost of their insurance will not skyrocket in 2026.
A majority of Members in the House agree —we should extend the ACA tax credits so Americans can keep their health insurance. 214 Democrats and 4 Republicans.
Speaker Johnson canceled votes tomorrow…which means he should bring up a vote TODAY to extend the health care tax credits before they expire.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social’ discharge petition will extend the tax credits that help Americans afford insurance, which are set to expire at the end of the year.
Speaker Johnson, bring the bill to the floor IMMEDIATELY, & we can stop premiums from doubling AND strengthen our public health system.
Health care is a biosecurity issue: if Americans don’t have access to health insurance, they are at greater risk of getting sick or dying from infectious diseases.
Now the wireless industry must act. Yesterday, I pressed them to implement this policy fully and ensure no one is left in the dark during an emergency. Our non-English speakers deserve the same access to life-saving info as our English speakers.
Last week, the FCC took a critical step to make emergency alerts available in more languages. This is a life-saving change for people in my community who don’t speak English fluently.
