Following a bipartisan push to restore nearly $7 billion in education funding for our schools, including $84 million dedicated to Missouri, I’m pleased the president has reversed course and released the funding. It’s what our students, families, and teachers deserve. thehill.com/homenews/edu...
As the @nlihc.org's Out of Reach Report makes clear: American families are facing a national housing affordability crisis—and it’s imperative that Congress take action to #RaiseTheWage, expand the supply of affordable housing, and lower housing costs For The People!
“While the stories and circumstances are unique, the root causes of housing instability are not: there are not enough decent, affordable, and accessible homes in communities, and wages have not kept pace with the ever-increasing cost of rent” www.kcur.org/2025-07-17/m...
The Protect Our TEETH Act will ensure the federal government is using the best evidence available when updating public health guidance regarding fluoridation, upholding the integrity of our public health system and protecting the dental health of families across the country.
When making policy decisions that impact the health of Americans nationwide, it's essential we utilize independent experts who are following the most rigorous scientific protocols to obtain their data. That’s why I’m introducing the Protect Our TEETH Act. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
Public broadcasters like PBS and NPR play a pivotal role in communities across #MO05. While Republicans recently voted to slash funding for these local stations, I’ll keep fighting to ensure they can continue serving the Missourians who depend on them! www.kshb.com/news/local-n...
The president hasn’t lowered costs for families. He hasn’t ended the war in Ukraine. He hasn’t released the Epstein Files. But he has made the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in history to fund more tax breaks for billionaires, while adding trillions to the debt. abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory...
Because of President Trump’s tariff taxes and Republican cuts to federal healthcare programs, hardworking families will see hikes to their healthcare costs moving forward. So much for lowering costs for the American people. www.forbes.com/sites/brucej...
PBS and NPR are instrumental in Western Missouri, playing a key role in relaying important information during crises while also providing beloved public programming like Sesame Street and local sportscasts. Last night, at the order of President Trump, Republicans defunded them.
The Call has been a pillar of the Black community in Kansas City for over a century, ensuring the voices and stories of African Americans are shared broadly. Thankful to the @kclibrary.bsky.social for preserving this history for generations to come. www.kansascity.com/news/local/a...
Today, @nlihc.org released its latest report about America’s national housing affordability crisis. The stark analysis shows that the cost of housing is simply out of reach for far too many families—and lawmakers must take action to lower costs. nlihc.org/oor?utm_sour...
As President Trump’s family reaps billions in corrupt crypto schemes, he is attempting to pressure lawmakers into passing crypto legislation that would unleash financial scammers and threaten the financial stability of families across the country. That’s why I’m voting NO!
A founder of The Black Caucus, Bill Clay was a dear friend, powerful mentor, and a champion for Black Americans in St. Louis and all across this great nation. It is with profound sadness that I send my condolences to the Clay family and the St. Louis community as they grieve this tremendous loss.
The Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda isn’t just a threat to immigrant communities, it's undermining the civil rights of American citizens, including those who have served in uniform. This lawlessness is a threat to civil rights for ALL. apnews.com/article/us-a...
Republicans said they would focus on lowering costs for hardworking families. Instead, after making the largest cut to Medicaid and SNAP in history to fund more tax breaks for the wealthiest 1%, they’re now killing off Big Bird and Mr. Rogers. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
