Another cynical move by @WBD meant to preserve their ability to get Trump’s approval for any merger while he’s President. Many big company CEOs bowing to Trump fear retribution. They fear he’ll strip away big federal contacts or use the DOJ to block mergers or sales by their corporations. 1/
Scoop: As Donald Trump gets ready to take power, CNN boss Mark Thompson has informed Jim Acosta that he would like to move his show to the graveyard hours. Details in @status.news: www.status.news/p/jim-acosta...
Rest in peace to filmmaker David Lynch, one of the most creative, entertaining and non-conforming writers/directors in the history of American cinema. This is one my favorite scenes from his move “Mulholland Drive.” Also watch the “Mystery Man” scene in Lost Highway.

Biden: "I want to warn the country of some things that give me great concern. That's the dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few ultra wealthy people and the dangerous consequences if their abuse of power is left unchecked. Today, an oligarchy is taking shape"
My office is always honored to attend services at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for unaccompanied veterans, who passed away with no known relatives. All those who served our country deserve a dignified final goodbye.
I welcome reports of a ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, but I mourn for the innocent victims of this war, including the Israelis killed and kidnapped on October 7 & the tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians killed in Gaza. My full statement: castro.house.gov/media-center...
This morning, my office was glad to attend a portrait unveiling for Judge Andrew Carruthers, who is retiring after more than half a century as a legal advocate and public servant. My office presented Judge Carruthers with a Congressional Record statement recognizing his dedication to Bexar County.
I am sending all my best to Bexar County Commissioner Rebeca Clay-Flores as she battles cancer. I am grateful that she's sharing her story to raise awareness and advocate for early screening and preventative efforts. www.ksat.com/news/local/2...

The 89th session of the Texas Legislature begins today. I was proud to serve five terms in the Texas House, and I'm wishing all the best to the legislators and staff working hard for the people of Texas.

Maduro's actions today continue to undermine the electoral will of the Venezuelan people who voted resoundingly for Edmundo González. We must work collectively to support a democratic, just & peaceful outcome in Venezuela. My full statement w/ Foreign Affairs Dems: castro.house.gov/media-center...

Breaking News: President-elect Trump’s advisers are said to be trying to identify a disease that could help them justify closing the U.S. border with Mexico. They have spent months trying to find the right disease to build their case.

The former FBI informant who accused President Biden and his son Hunter of taking a $10 million bribe from Ukraine was sentenced to 6 years in prison today. After Alexander Smirnov was changed with lying about the bribe, he admitted the information came from Russian officials.

NEW: Rep. Gomez and I are leading 30+ members of the CHC in a letter asking Pres. Biden to direct the FBI to declassify files on surveillance of the Latino civil rights movement. The CIA released 50+ files last month, but many of the FBI’s files remain undisclosed. castro.house.gov/media-center...
Last year, I was proud to get $500,000 to kickstart this project, which will support young women as they build healthy and stable lives through housing, workforce training, and other services. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact to come. 2/
