No one knows better than fishermen what it takes to make a living on the water, or the threat that new regulations can pose to their livelihoods.
My bill to relocate federal agencies would ensure regulators understand the places they serve and bring good jobs to more communities.
No matter who you are, where you live or what political views you hold, all Americans should be rooting for our country’s success.
I congratulate President Trump on his inauguration and look forward to working with him when I can — as I would work with anyone — to improve Mainers’ lives.
Dr. King’s words ring just as true these many decades later.
I hope we'll strive to answer the division, hate and disunity we see too often with a spirit of unity and a willingness to see the good in those with whom we disagree, just he preached.
Today is a day to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
During a time of great turbulence and injustice, he offered a clear message: ‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.’
As lawmakers our priority should be serving our constituents — not leveraging our position to game the stock market.
I’m helping reintroduce a bill to ban congressional stock trading because the practice is more than just a bad look — it undermines the meaning of public service.
Always great to join Jennifer Rooks on Maine Calling and @mainepublic.org. Thanks to all the Mainers who called in to talk tariffs, infrastructure, fisheries, veterans and more!

Last year, we urged the Biden Administration to investigate China’s cheating in the shipbuilding industry to undercut American workers. Today, the Biden Administration confirmed our concerns. It’s time to take bold action & implement the strongest measures to protect American shipbuilding jobs.
Today I’m reintroducing my bill to establish a 10 percent universal tariff.
Thanks @jeffstein.bsky.social for sitting down to talk about my mission to change course from a consumption economy to one focused on production and innovation.

Maine families hunt and fish in our lands and waters, harvest timber in our woods, and create outdoor recreation opportunities — all while serving as stewards of our environment.
I can’t wait to use my new post on
@naturalresources.bsky.socialky.social to advocate for them.
If Hamas abides by the terms of such an agreement, I believe there can be a path towards a more lasting peace in the region. 3/3
I look forward to the implementation of a final agreement that ensures that all remaining hostages are returned home to their families and that Hamas lays down the weapons it took up when it started this conflict. 2/3
🧵The first stage of the hostage & ceasefire deal announced today calls for an immediate ceasefire, a surge of aid to Gaza and the release of 33 women, children, and elderly hostages by Hamas — each good first steps.
A great look at why our systems are failing and what we can do to fix it.
Appreciate @nytopinion.nytimes.com highlighting my and @gluesenkampperez.house.gov's electoral reform bill.

I’m proud of them for going to the mat for their industry, and glad their voices have been heard and that DMR has pledged to give the lobstermen a seat at the table in determining what conservation efforts, if any, are needed to protect their fishery. 4/4
I was the only Member of Congress from New England to join them, both addressing regulators with my own concerns and introducing legislation to block the change. 3/4
Lobstermen have been saying for months that the proposed gauge increase was not only a risk to their livelihoods and their communities, but an unnecessary overreaction to questionable stock data. 2/4
🚨🚨🚨 Following sustained pressure, the Department of Marine Resources has withdrawn its proposed gauge increase on Maine lobstermen. 🧵

The framers never intended for Congress to be a decades-long career.
I support adding term limits to the Constitution so that fresh perspectives are heard and that new generations of leaders have the opportunity to step up. Thanks U.S. Term Limits for supporting this necessary work.
Maine’s LEOs go above and beyond to protect and serve our communities.
I’m grateful for their service — both today on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and throughout the rest of the year.
