Students and faculty helped to celebrate citizenship as 40 newly naturalized citizens took their oath to join the American experiment at Central Catholic. Thank you to US District Judge Jack Zouhary and all who took part Friday to make it a welcoming atmosphere for all involved.
After two years of extreme drought, and ill conceived tariffs closing foreign export markets, NW Ohio farmers and growers are at risk. They should be thinking about spring planting, but the War in Iran closed the Straits of Hormuz and sent fertilizer prices skyrocketing—this is simply unsustainable!
Looking forward to tonight’s Toledo Rockets vs. Akron Zips Men’s Basketball game with the MAC Championship and a trip to #MarchMadness on the line. Let’s Go UToledo Rockets!
As Ohio is known as America’s “State of Flight,” may their character, spirits, and ultimate sacrifice remain a living beacon of hope, remembrance, and prayer for their families, colleagues, and nation in the difficult days ahead.
May all Ohioans bow their heads and honor the precious, patriotic lives of 3 Ohio National Guardmen. They sacrificed their lives in war in a difficult refueling mission over Iraq.
Timothy Haase was a devoted son, brother, caregiver, and the steady heart of Dino's Family Restaurant in Maumee for more than two decades. He showed up before dawn, fed neighbors with kindness, and reminded us that dignity lives in every service. His tragic loss left a deep ache in our community.
Here in NW Ohio, gas prices are rising fast. It’s unaffordable for our people. It’s a tax when you go to work, a tax if you go to church, a tax if you go to the grocery store. It’s President Trump’s War on Iran, but our people are the one’s paying the price.
In 2024, I delivered nearly $1 Million in Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) funding to procure new equipment, provide officer training, and to help the Oregon Police Department start up a new K-9 Unit. Now, Zorro is helping to keep Oregon safe.
Joined with Teamsters Local 20 retirees for a lively conversation about rising costs, retirement security, infrastructure, health care and American competitiveness. It’s an honor to stand up for people whose work has kept America moving forward.
This afternoon, Senate Republicans blocked a bill to fund TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard, and Cyber Defense. Americans shouldn't have to wait in hour long lines at airports while workers go without pay, simply because the GOP refuse to address accountability and commonsense reforms at ICE and CBP.
🚨🚨🚨Social Security is investigating a former DOGE employee for accessing highly sensitive agency databases and sharing the information with a private employer. If proven true, this would constitute an unprecedented breach of security protocols that could expose data of tens of millions of Americans.
It was my honor to celebrate the life of William J. Darah Jr. of NW Ohio on the House floor. He was a husband, father, grandfather and businessman who embodied the American dream of hard work, integrity, and devotion to family. Bill was a natural leader, a storyteller, and a man whose word mattered.
Kristi Noem’s firing doesn’t change the waste, lawlessness, mismanagement, and abuse at ICE that led to the death of Americans. ICE and CBP need reform and the same standards as all law enforcement agencies. Reopen DHS, TSA, Cyber Defense, and Coast Guard; clean up ICE and CBP.
As of this morning, Ohio has the second highest average cost increase for a gallon of gas in the country. Gas is up an average of 66 cents per gallon across the Buckeye State in 1 week. My neighborhood has stations up over 70 cents per gallon with no end in sight—this is unaffordable for our people!
