By investing in lowering energy costs we are creating jobs in our rural communities. Funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, this initiative saves our local farmers and small businesses an average of $25,000 annually. Together we are building a cleaner and greener future!
Great news for Northwest Ohio! I am proud to announce a $70,000 EDA investment for the Maumee Valley Planning Organization to boost our region's economy. Together, we’re creating jobs, supporting local business and strengthening the spine of our economy.
Today, we honor the visionaries who fought for these programs and reaffirm our commitment to protecting and strengthening them for future generations. Let us continue to build on this legacy, ensuring that healthcare remains a right, not a privilege, for all Americans. 4/
I have seen firsthand the profound impact these programs have on our community. They are more than just policies; they are promises — promises that every American, regardless of age or income, has the right to healthcare. 3/
Medicare ensures that our elderly can retire with dignity, free from the fear of medical bankruptcy. Medicaid extends a compassionate hand to our most vulnerable, providing critical healthcare services to those in need. 2/
🧵59 years ago today, on July 30, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed Medicare and Medicaid into law, fundamentally transforming our nation's healthcare system. For nearly six decades, these programs have been a lifeline for seniors, the disabled, and low-income families. 1/
Joined Ohio National Guard Major General John Harris, Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson, and members of our community to celebrate Buffalo Soldiers Day, which we commemorate every July 28th to honor formation of the first Regular Army Regiments comprised of African American soldiers in 1866.
Congratulations to Bryan, Ohio on being named one of Ohio Magazine’s best Hometown’s! This is a testament to this Northwest Ohio community. Looking forward to reading the feature on Bryan in their November issue. Bryan and homegrown Spangler Candy Company are well worth a visit.
Go #TeamUSA! Let's show the world the strength, resilience, and spirit of our incredible athletes. Proud to support our Olympians from Ohio and across the nation. Bring home the gold! #Olympics
Celebrating 34 years since the #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct was signed into law! Proud to always stand with our Northwest Ohio community as we continue to champion equality, accessibility, and inclusion for all. Together, we build a brighter future where all Ohioans can thrive.
Paid tribute to the remarkable life of Margaret “Peggy” Ann Murray. Peggy's life was a testament to dedication, service and love. She truly embodied the values of hard work, learning, and compassion that imbue an ethic that makes America a better place.
Family owned and operated Spangler Candy in Williams County is celebrating the 100th Birthday of its signature Dum Dum lollipop. Last night we marked the occasion with an entry in the Congressional Record. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America!
As Americans our primary objective must be to shape a diplomatic path forward with Allies toward peaceful resolution for the war in Gaza. We must outline a practical road forward for peace, and that path to peace needs to be carefully considered, not merely an afterthought.
Pleased to host President of Lourdes University Dr. William Bisset today, as my guest for Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Joint Address to Congress. Dr. Bisset was recently acknowledged for his leadership in conducting an open dialogue regarding the road to peace in the war in Gaza.
🚨Attention Ohioans🚨 Beware of scam texts and emails claiming to be from Ohio Turnpike Tolls Services demanding payment for unpaid tolls. The Ohio Turnpike only uses USPS mail for toll invoices and emails E-ZPass users for account updates. Stay safe and avoid suspicious links.
Honored the life and legacy of Dennis Charles Duffey, a dedicated family man, Vietnam veteran, labor leader, and community servant. He had a remarkable 50 year career with IBEW Local 8, 5 times elected as Business Manager and later serving 10 years as State Secretary Treasurer.
