Congrats to the graduates of the UI Health Mile Square Dental Assistant Program! It was an honor to celebrate this milestone with you all & see a new, diverse generation of healthcare professionals ready to serve our communities.
President Trump’s tariffs are creating crippling uncertainty and threatening the livelihood of our farmers. China is soybean farmers’ biggest client — but Trump’s tariffs drove them away, hurting Illinois, one of the largest producers of soybeans in the country.
I'm honored to join the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 30th annual Black Women’s Expo in Chicago! The theme, "The Legacy Continues," perfectly captures the spirit of this incredible event that celebrates and uplifts Black women and their families.
Who wants a $200 million Mar-a-lago ballroom in the White House? Families across the country are fighting to afford healthcare and groceries. The President has made it loud and clear: he serves billionaires and himself, not working Americans.
It feels good to be home.🏡 This August I will be traveling throughout the District to share how the Big, Ugly Law will affect you & your family, and how I will fight hell for your healthcare & food assistance. Join my weekly newsletter for updates & upcoming events at: buff.ly/HNYnzvW
Congressman Danny Davis is a true champion! For nearly 30 years, he fought for civil rights, better healthcare for Black men & boys, & criminal justice reform. Illinois and our nation are better thanks to his service.
This is alarming: Instead of treating their workers with the respect and dignity they deserve, @airgas.bsky.social attacked striking workers in Illinois and New Jersey. I join @teamsters.bsky.social in calling on good faith negotiations for a fair contract.
Medicaid is a lifeline for millions, like Kairo, whose 24-hr care allows his parents to work. Republicans’ cuts devastate families. I'm fighting to repeal the ugliest parts of the Big, Ugly Law to fund Medicaid. Hear Kairo's story⬇️
As a grandmother, I want my grandbabies and their friends to return to school this fall having everything they need. But with President Trump’s tariffs and inflation, the cost for school supplies has risen, forcing many parents to go into debt or find strategic ways to save.
60 years ago, our country came together to form Medicaid & Medicare, two cornerstone programs that have helped generations gain access to healthcare to live in dignity. Now these essential programs & the 140 million people who rely on them are under attack by President Trump.
Trump sacrificed our healthcare to give $4.5T in tax breaks to the wealthy. Now he’s trying to dismantle the Clean Air Act to repay Big Polluters. I’ve stood up to bullies before—and won. This fight is about truth, science, and our future.
Healthcare equity is more than policy for me—it’s personal, and it is a human right. As Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, I’m committed to reducing disparities and expanding access to care, especially for the millions of Black women who have been left behind over time.
Climate change is real. Trump wants to gut protections, deny science, and let Big Polluters profit while our communities suffer. I refuse to let that happen. See what I had to say this morning with climate advocates. ⬇️
The future belongs to our children and grandchildren. President Trump is trying to take that future away, but I'm committed to ensuring the next generation inherits a world with clean air and water.
Thank you @robinkelly.house.gov @repbillfoster.bsky.social @elpcenter.bsky.social @sierraclub.org IL @camdavismwrd.bsky.social @nrdc.org @resphealth.bsky.social and everyone who stood with us to speak out against the Trump administration’s efforts to gut EPA’s ability to combat climate change.
