I keep hearing Republicans claim their budget doesn't cut Medicaid.
We all know that's a lie — so I asked the nonpartisan CBO to look into it.
Their analysis confirms it: the Republican budget delivers the largest Medicaid cuts in history to pay for giveaways to billionaires.
Last night, Trump admitted that his tariffs are going to RAISE costs for Americans.
Paying even more for gas, groceries, and housing might just be a "little disturbance" for our billionaire president, but for anyone who actually works for a paycheck, it's going to hurt.
Very proud to see the House Small Business Committee pass my bill to better support disabled Americans who want to start their own businesses.
People with disabilities make up just 6% of our country’s small business owners — let's change that.
Confirming what we already know: Donald Trump's funding freeze is an unconstitutional power grab. bit.ly/4imDixF
I'm heartbroken to hear of the passing of my colleague, Congressman Sylvester Turner.
My heart is with his loved ones and the people of Texas' 18th Congressional District as we mourn this loss. His legacy will live on for generations — from DC to Houston.
Trump's broad 25% tariffs on our allies mean:
🍅 Even higher prices at the grocery store
⛽️ We'll continue to pay more for gas
🏘️ Housing costs will just keep rising
Overall, his blanket tariffs are going to cost the average Kentuckian at least $1,200.
If Trump and House Republicans get their way, U of L will lose almost $200 million in federal funding.
I'll always fight to make sure our universities get the resources they need, and I'm proud to have President Schatzel as my guest for tonight's address. bit.ly/3QKczPI
Tariffs should be used as a scalpel, not a sledgehammer.
Donald Trump's blanket tariffs on Canada and Mexico are a sledgehammer, and they'll raise costs for Kentuckians across the board. bit.ly/3D2s9Dm
The average income at a retirement home in Kentucky is $54,439 — Elon Musk makes that in less than 3 minutes.
He has no idea what it’s like to depend on Social Security, but that won't stop him from trying to take it from you. bit.ly/3F4207B

Wishing a blessed and spiritually uplifting month to Louisville's Muslim community. Ramadan Mubarak!
Donald Trump and JD Vance's charade in the Oval Office today was shameful and un-American.
It made them look small and it makes everyone less safe.
Looks like the campaign donor to government contract pipeline is alive and well in the Trump Administration.
When the Republican majority holds a vote on their scam of a budget in the middle of your telephone town hall, you call in from the House floor 🤷♂️
Thanks to the thousands of Louisvillians who joined and asked questions, and thanks for bearing with the chaos!
These mail delays are unacceptable — Louisvillians are waiting on checks, prescriptions, and bills, and postal workers aren't getting what they need to do their jobs.
But privatizing USPS isn't the answer. Trump and Musk will only make this worse.
Getting ghosted by a federal agency? Questions about your benefits? Team McGarvey can help.
My team will be at Café LOUIE at the Main Library this weekend! Come by from 9 - 10 am to ask questions or get some assistance.
Here's what's going on with the Republican budget in less than a minute ⏲️
RESCHEDULED: I'm hosting my annual African American Veterans Breakfast on Friday, March 7th.

Louisvillians are waiting on medications, checks, and bills — there is no excuse. This needs to be fixed, and it can't happen again.
We’re past just asking for answers, we’re asking USPS to take every step needed to solve the problem. bit.ly/4hSz9l5
I voted NO on the Republican budget. My statement:
