Happy 103rd Founders’ Day to the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.! 💙💛
Today, we vote on a bill that forces a choice between our federal workforce and hungry families — or the millions who may lose access to health care if enhanced premium tax credits expire.
Republicans forced us into this. I joined @wric.com to discuss why the fight for health care continues.
Happy #VeteransDay! Wishing veterans, their loved ones and the service community a day of celebration and remembrance.
As veterans transition from active-duty to civilian life, we owe it to them to ease any burdens they face.
In honor of #VeteransDay, I introduced the Student Veteran Work Study Modernization Act to tailor the VA Work Study Program to better meet the unique needs of student veterans.
Happy 250th birthday to the U.S. Marines!
My full statement on the latest Senate funding bill:
From day one of the 119th Congress, I have stood with House Democrats ready to pass a bipartisan funding bill that meets the needs of the American people, lowers costs and addresses the health care crisis facing this country.
The Senate proposal is not that bill. I will vote no.
As we begin November, we are now in the longest government shutdown in American history.
Here are some highlights from this week.
This is good news for the millions of families SNAP helps put food on the table.
It should not have taken a court order, considering Congress created a contingency fund for this purpose.
USDA has the money to pay SNAP benefits in November.
Two federal judges found USDA has the power to pay SNAP benefits during the shutdown, and one ordered them to do so.
The Trump Administration plans to appeal because it wants a political win rather than to feed hungry Americans.
President Trump and his Administration would rather waste taxpayer dollars on a ballroom than feed families and keep health care affordable for millions.
This morning, I joined Sunrise on The Hill by @thehill.com to discuss Republicans’ inaction and skewed priorities during this shutdown.
Thank you, Madam Speaker @pelosi.house.gov, for all you’ve given to our nation. You will be missed as a trailblazer, a leader and a steadfast figure in fighting for the American people.
It’s been an honor to serve with you.
We are now in the longest government shutdown in American history.
House Republicans still show no interest in returning to Washington to negotiate an end.
The American people are tired of it.
I joined @kristenwelker.bsky.social on @meetthepress.com to discuss the shutdown and more.
We’ve reached November, and the shadow of a now month-long shutdown hangs over us as open enrollment begins and premiums skyrocket for millions.
Keep watching for what you missed last week.
Just in time for Halloween, the latest episode of Moments with McClellan is here! I sat down with @markwarner.bsky.social to talk about his favorite holiday, the government shutdown and more.
