This month’s episode of Moments with McClellan features Virginia’s Senior Senator @markwarner.bsky.social!
Stay tuned as we discuss the shutdown, rising health care costs for Americans, his infamous tuna melt and Sen. Warner’s favorite holiday!
TONIGHT at 6 PM! Stay tuned for the livestream link.
Republicans’ shutdown continues, and time is running out to avoid a catastrophic hit to our health care system. House Republicans refuse to come to Washington, despite the urgent need to extend enhanced premium tax credits under the ACA.

The Trump Administration refuses to use contingency funds to keep SNAP running after November 1st.
25 state attorneys general sued to compel USDA to do so. I joined @repvindman.bsky.social and Democratic members of the Virginia delegation to urge Virginia’s AG to do the same.
ICYMI: With SNAP benefits running out November 1st, I spoke with @joyannreid.bsky.social on @thejoyreidshow.bsky.social to discuss the Trump Administration’s refusal to use USDA contingency funds to extend benefits.

Without Medicaid, Taylor would have gone without care following complications after giving birth to her son.
Now, Taylor’s terrified of what Republicans’ cuts to Medicaid will mean for her family.
Join me TOMORROW at 6 PM for a tele-town hall to discuss the government shutdown and what people can do amidst chaos in Washington.
You can join the livestream and submit questions on my website and Facebook page once the tele-town hall begins. Stay tuned!
Watch my full introduction and Taylor’s remarks here:
It’s been 28 days since Republicans shut down the government rather than address the health care crisis they created.
At the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social and @housedemocrats.bsky.social hearing, I introduced Taylor Moyer to share how Republican Medicaid cuts from their Big Ugly Law hurt her family.
I joined the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social and @housedemocrats.bsky.social for a hearing on strengthening the care economy and protecting the ACA.
As @aijenpoo.bsky.social of @domesticworkers.bsky.social made clear, Republican policies stripping away health insurance hit our care workers hard.
I’m in Washington for a hearing with @demwomencaucus.bsky.social and @housedemocrats.bsky.social on the devastating impact Republican policies have on our essential care workers ⬇️

Americans could go without access to food if SNAP benefits run out in November. But Trump would rather send bailouts to his friends, and Republicans seem content to prolong the shutdown and let families go hungry.
I joined Rev. Al Sharpton on PoliticsNation to discuss the shutdown and more.
It’s been over 3 weeks since Republicans shut down the government — and over a month since the House held a vote or hearing.
I’m still at work in Washington and the district. Here are some highlights.
Speaker Mike Johnson has kept the House in recess for over a month.
Meanwhile, SNAP funding runs out next week. A bill to extend funding during a shutdown languishes in committee.
I joined @repjahanahayes.bsky.social to urge the Trump Administration to use USDA funds and extend SNAP benefits.
It’s been over three weeks since the Republicans shut down the government rather than address a health care crisis of their own making.
Yet the House has not held a vote or a hearing on anything for over a month.

The deadline to submit a nomination is TODAY!
The Trump Administration will let millions of Americans go hungry.
I joined @pwcdanica.bsky.social, @voicesforvakids.bsky.social, @tcifiscal.bsky.social, The Federation of Virginia Food Banks and SNAP recipients to urge the USDA to use its reserves to extend SNAP benefits into November.
