2.5 million children are being raised by grandparents or kin, including over 100k in MA.
My Grandfamily Housing Act with @repmcgovern.bsky.social would help ensure these families can access safe, affordable, and age-appropriate housing.
Because housing is a human right.
Menopause is a natural stage of life that affects millions of women across the country.
But too many of us can’t access accurate information & care, leading to discomfort & health disparities.
With @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, I am urging HHS & FDA to strengthen & expand menopause research.
Trump & Republicans want a nation of forced birth, but we won't let them.
As @reprocaucus.bsky.social Co-Chair, I'll keep fighting for a just America that affirms abortion care as a human right.
For Amber Thurman, Adriana Smith, & everyone unjustly harmed by cruel, harmful abortion bans.
Today we mark the 53 years since #RoevWade—& the 4th without a constitutional right to abortion.
Since SCOTUS overturned Roe, we've seen:
—Millions losing access to healthcare
—Higher Black maternal morbidity
—Patients & providers criminalized
—Cruel abortion bans
—& more
BREAKING: I just introduced a discharge petition to force a vote on extending TPS for Haiti.
Our Haitian neighbors deserve to continue their essential work & contributions to our communities.
And if Donald Trump won’t act to protect Haitian lives, then Congress must.
I just voted HELL NO to giving ICE a single penny.
Congress should not be funding an agency that has terrorized our communities, kidnapped our neighbors, and killed people on the street with impunity.
We must abolish ICE and end qualified immunity for ICE agents NOW.
BREAKING: I just introduced a discharge petition to force a vote on extending TPS for Haiti.
Our Haitian neighbors deserve to continue their essential work & contributions to our communities.
And if Donald Trump won’t act to protect Haitian lives, then Congress must.
We must abolish ICE, end qualified immunity for ICE agents, immediately halt funding & dismantle the systems of cruelty and oppression that have gotten us to this point.
A senior forced from his home in just his underwear in freezing temperatures, after ICE broke into his home.
There is no reforming this lawless, violent, & rogue agency.
A five-year-old child detained & used by ICE to bait his pregnant mother from their home.
A young teenager kidnapped for walking down a sidewalk with a snack in his hand, pleading to go home.
A protester pinned to the ground, sprayed with chemical irritants directly in his face.
Today, the House will vote on a bill to give ICE $28 billion more with no accountability.
I will vote NO.
ICE is a rogue agency that operates with callous disregard for human life.
They are endangering our neighbors, babies & children, bystanders & protestors.
Our Haitian neighbors are critical to our communities and essential to our economy.
But now, 350,000 of them could be at risk of deportation if Trump terminates TPS for Haiti on Feb 3.
Hear directly from advocates on how this will impact our communities:
America deserves a HUD Secretary who will tackle the fair & affordable housing crisis.
But @secretaryturner.bsky.social is failing the people & sitting on the sidelines.
Trump and Republicans are using him as the poster child for their anti-DEI crusade, and the people deserve better.
Lisa Cook is a brilliant economist who belongs on the Federal Reserve.
Trump's attempt to fire her is a baseless, unlawful, and anti-Black power grab that threatens Fed independence.
The Supreme Court must uphold the law and rein in this unprecedented abuse of power.
Today, we used the power of the Congressional gavel to listen, bear witness, & stand in strong solidarity with our Haitian neighbors.
Our hearing made clear that terminating TPS for over 350,000 Haitians is cruel and it is a death sentence.
And Trump must reverse course NOW.
A year into Trump's second term, I'm grateful for the everyday people who've stood strong in the face of cruelty.
In today's @bostonglobe.com, I wrote about why democracy is still ours to defend, and how the only way to beat a dictator is with defiance.
As Trump marks one year of governing with contempt for our immigrant neighbors, we're centering one of the communities most impacted.
I’m holding a hearing with @markey.senate.gov on Trump's termination of TPS for Haiti & how it'll impact families in MA.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man before he was made a martyr.
A husband, father, son, and man with a bold vision for revolutionary change.
As we reflect on his legacy today, let's not forget his humanity.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote the blueprint for our survival.
Today, we take our cues from him — not from insecure, wannabe kings who traffic in hate.
Together, we'll continue resisting authoritarianism, because “right temporarily defeated is stronger than evil triumphant.”
