While families scrambled to feed their kids during Republicans' govt shutdown, Trump and USDA were trying to silence SNAP workers like Ellen from speaking out. This retaliatory firing is egregious and a violation of her right to free speech. She must be reinstated immediately.
A Washington Post article headline that reads: Trump administration prepares to fire worker for TV interview about SNAP.
This spending bill is a fundamental betrayal of the people, and I voted NO. Shame on every member of Congress who voted to deny a child their medication or to tear away life-saving cancer treatment. The people deserve so much better, and this fight isn't over.
Congrats to Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva on your long-overdue swearing-in! With you in Congress, the people of Arizona's 7th now have a voice in the halls of power. And we now have the 218th signature we need to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files.

These emails are damning. It's clear Trump knew about Epstein's abuse. It's time to release the full Epstein files NOW, hold a hearing with survivors, and end this White House cover-up once and for all.
🚨BREAKING: Oversight Dems have received new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes. Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES.
It's always an honor to spend Veterans Day at the Puerto Rican Veterans Memorial in the South End. Thank you to the over 200,000 Boricuas who have served our country, & to Tony Molina for preserving their legacy. We're lucky to have this one-of-a-kind memorial here in the #MA7.
We must remember to honor our veterans not just with words, but with action. And our veterans, many with visible & invisible wounds, deserve the gratitude and benefits they earned. That includes healthcare, food assistance, housing, dignity in their daily lives, & more.
A tweet by Rep. Pressley that reads:

This Veterans Day, instead of uplifting our veterans, Trump & Republicans are letting them go hungry.

1.2M veterans need SNAP benefits to feed themselves & their families, as do 13% of active military personnel.

This is intentional policy harm, and they deserve better.
A tweet by Rep. Pressley that reads:

Our veterans deserve to be met with dignity, respect & the benefits they rightfully earned.

But Trump & Republicans have refused to extend vital healthcare subsidies, meaning 267,000 veterans could lose health coverage.

This isn't how we care for those who've served our country & communities.
Grateful to start my Veteran's Day in Cambridge honoring the sacrifices and contributions of our #MA7 veterans. Thank you to Army Veteran Kevin Lambert for his service, and his essential role helping our veterans live healthy, stable, dignified lives.

Happy Veterans Day! Our veterans are defenders of democracy & freedom, and our communities are stronger thanks to their service, contributions, & sacrifices. I'll never stop fighting for them to live with dignity, respect, quality healthcare, adequate housing, and so much more.
Trump's refusal to fully fund SNAP will have devastating impacts on our local economies, urban farmers, & food sellers. Including Davey's in Roxbury, a staple since 1983. Trump's violent policy choice to let people go hungry is harming their business and the families they feed.
Head Start programs provide essential child care, nutritious meals, & a quality early education for our kids. Now, Trump & Republicans' govt shutdown is forcing Head Start programs to close. They're intentionally taking children out of school and making families scramble for support.
With Trump enacting wholesale harm, I'm grateful for our orgs in the #MA7 standing in the gap providing essential services, protecting our neighbors, & more. I held check-ins with La Colaborativa & Chelsea Black Community to hear from them & how we can continue our work to support our communities.
