Mike Thompson

Charles Michael Thompson is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for California's 4th congressional district since 1999. The district, in the outer northern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, includes all of Lake and Napa counties and parts of Contra Costa, Solano, Yolo and Sonoma counties. Thompson chairs the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Last year, every Ways & Means Republican cosponsored and voted for a bill increasing criminal penalties for unauthorized disclosure of taxpayer data. Now, I’m urging them to join us in investigating the credible allegations that Elon Musk and DOGE violated federal law by gaining access to taxpayer.
The court has ordered Musk and his cadre of teenage interns must immediately destroy their copies of taxpayers’ private data. This is a crucial step and we will continue to fight this privacy violation in the courts and in Congress. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
