Becca Balint

Rebecca A. Balint is an American politician who is a member of the United States House of Representatives from Vermont's at-large congressional district as a member of the Democratic Party. She served as a member of the Vermont Senate from Windham County from 2015 to 2023, as majority leader from 2017 to 2021, and as president pro tempore from 2021 to 2023.

We are now 32 days into Trump’s illegal war and we have paid at least $25 billion for it. Here’s a look at what we could have done with those taxpayer dollars. Trump needs to bring this reckless war of choice to an end now & return focus to lowering costs and increasing opportunities here at home.
$25 billion in 32 days to fund the illegal war in Iran that could have gone to: 1. 29,614,000 children receiving free school lunch for a school year. 2. 2,865,000 adults with free tuition at community college for a 2 year associates degree 3. 1,780,000 children covered for a year of childcare. 4. 3,106,000 people being covered by Medicaid for year. 5. 3,147,000 people housed in Section 8 for a year.
