Republicans didn’t attack Jack Smith’s facts of the case today. They didn’t try and say Trump didn’t attempt to overturn the election. Why? Because they know exactly what he did and what crimes he committed. But to please their cult leader, they spent their time deflecting.
Republicans barely even asked about Jack Smith’s findings today — because they know that they can’t touch the facts of his investigation. We all know what happened on Jan 6th — Donald Trump incited an insurrection. And Jack Smith’s findings confirm that.
Jack Smith: “If we do not hold the most powerful people in our society to the same standards… if we don’t hold people to account when they commit crimes, it sends a message that those crimes are okay.” Trump was let off the hook for Jan 6. That is destructive for our democracy.
“It doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election. You still have to fight like hell.” Special Counsel Jack Smith says that Donald Trump KNEW his allegations of election fraud were lies when he spread them.
Donald Trump spread lies and conspiracy theories to his followers to make them believe the 2020 election was rigged against him, then incited an angry mob to attack the U.S. Capitol to stop the election certification. These are Special Counsel Jack Smith’s findings.
Today, Jack Smith is in front of @democrats-judiciary.house.gov to tell us about his investigation into Trump’s criminal actions surrounding January 6th. I was in the Capitol that day, and I know what happened: Trump incited a violent insurrection to try and overturn the 2020 election.
My heart is with the families of those killed by the Iranian government. The future of Iran belongs to the people. I applaud the bravery of the protestors who are standing up for their rights. We are with you and will keep fighting for and justice. www.reuters.com/world/iran-d...
BREAKING: an immigrant’s death at an ICE detention center has been ruled a homicide. Detainees saw guards choke the man to death. Trump’s DHS denied it. An independent autopsy has confirmed it was a homicide. We need an independent investigation NOW. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Medicare DisAdvantage will rip off American taxpayers to the tune of $76 billion in 2026. These private insurer-run plans are more expensive AND lead to worse outcomes for patients. It’s time to rein in Medicare DisAdvantage & protect Traditional Medicare. www.healthcaredive.com/news/medicar...
Republicans love to talk about fraud, but they never actually do anything to crack down on it! Trump continues to hand out pardons to fraudsters as Republicans protect programs rife with waste and fraud. We SHOULD be cracking down — and it’s time they get on board.
In the richest country in the world, it is reprehensible that people are forced to wait til a preventable disease becomes an emergency, or until they’re 65 and on Medicare to access care. It’s time for Medicare for All — health care from the day you’re born to the day you die.
Today, I signed the discharge petition on our bill to ban members of Congress, the VP, and President from trading stocks. GOP leadership is trying to block any real progress — I’m fighting to end stock trading to show the American people we work for them, not our pocketbooks.
ICE is not keeping us safe — they are actively putting us in danger. Listen to Mendota Heights Police Chief Kelly McCarthy break down how DHS and ICE’s actions have impeded local law enforcement and undermined public safety.
Without real reforms and accountability, I will not vote to give the Department of Homeland Security another cent. Judicial warrants for arrests. Prosecution of officers who violate our constitutional rights. Cooperation with local law enforcement investigations. No more masks.
16 years ago, SCOTUS ruled in Citizens United, allowing the ultra-rich to flood elections with dark money. Since then, billionaires have taken over our gov’t and screwed over working people. It’s time to pass my We the People Amendment to FINALLY reverse this disastrous ruling.
