As a new school year begins, I send my best wishes to every teacher, student, and family member for a wonderful academic year. The start of a new year brings limitless possibility, and as your Congresswoman, know that I am fighting hard for continued federal investment in your education.
I also met with leadership from the UGA Small Business Development Center at KSU. This is an incredible asset to small business owners and entrepreneurs across the state. I was pleased to hear directly from four local business owners about how the SBDC is helping them navigate challenging times.
Monday, I toured Kennesaw State University. I recently teamed up with Rep. Barry Loudermilk on an amendment to support funding for KSU's military resilience work, which includes suicide prevention resources. Support for our servicemembers and returning veterans remains a top priority for my office.
As a member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, I am proud to be a champion for our country’s workforce development system. When Congress returns to Washington, I look forward to making further progress on the reauthorization of WIOA to support American Job Centers across America.
American Job Centers are pillars of federal job training programs. I stopped by the Cobb Work Source Center in Mableton to learn more about the success of their programs and how they are connecting people with opportunity.
Rep. McBath stands in front of a poster with CobbWorks CEO Sonya Grant and Mableton Mayor Michael Owens.
This week, I was privileged to visit Lockheed Martin in Marietta. Lockheed employs over 680 constituents from my district alone, and I was pleased to learn about the ways in which they are helping to educate and support the workforce of the future. Thank you for having me!
People deserve better than the extreme cuts Republicans made. On this anniversary, I'm recommitting myself to the fight for lower costs, expanded benefits, and improved access to care for every single person.
Blue graphic featuring a photograph of President Lyndon Johnson reads "60 years ago today Medicare & Medicaid were signed into law."
60 years ago, Medicare and Medicaid became law, offering quality, affordable health care choices to millions of Americans. My Republican colleagues and President Trump recently slashed federal investment in these foundational programs, threatening the care of millions of Americans.
Together with my colleagues on the Education & Workforce Committee, I'm fighting against Republican attempts to raise health care costs and gut coverage. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, I understand how important it is to have affordable and accessible health care.
New today in the Georgia Sun 🍑 "Georgia schools will soon get some relief... This comes after strong pressure from Georgia’s Rep. Lucy McBath and other lawmakers." "The partial release shows the power of bipartisan pressure and public outcry."
Our students and families deserve to have access to high-quality public education programs. No more excuses. It's past time for the Trump Administration to release the illegally withheld $7 billion in federal funding that Congress approved. youtu.be/WdE6_o4HUhk
Delighted to spend the morning at the Good Samaritan Center of Douglas County and hear about their work to keep Atlanta healthy and nourished. Thanks for having me—we appreciate all you do!
