Today is the annual Great California ShakeOut!
Earthquake preparedness is crucial in the Bay Area & across the country.
That’s why I introduced the Earthquake Resilience Act—to improve lifeline infrastructure & help everyone be ready when earthquakes strike.

Day 15 of the Republican government shutdown.
Democrats are here in Washington D.C. fighting to protect Affordable Care Act tax credits and to stop your health care premiums from skyrocketing.
Republicans refuse to pass a budget that lowers health care costs and puts everyday families first over billionaires. That's why they've been AWOL for 26 days.
Meanwhile, @housedemocrats.bsky.social are here in D.C. ready to work for the American people and reopen the government.
We're on day 14 of the Republican government shutdown.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are ready to support a bipartisan budget that protects health care for millions and stops your premiums from skyrocketing.
It's time for House Republicans to end their vacation and get back to work.
From Day 1, Trump has been trying to take away essential public services & fire hardworking federal employees.
Why? So he can give tax breaks to billionaires.
Trump wanted this REPUBLICAN GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN so he could use it as an excuse to fire more people.
It's week 2 of the Republican government shutdown.
If Republicans get their way, Americans will see health care costs skyrocket. Millions will lose their coverage entirely.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are fighting to protect health care for everyday families.
Trump is weaponizing the justice system for his own selfish, vengeful, political purposes. It's a disservice to our democracy and the American people, and it's the actions of a wannabe dictator. www.politico.com/news/2025/10...
@caltrain.com's innovative approach should be expanded nationally.
That’s why I authored a bill to help spur this type of technology that makes passenger rail service more sustainable and efficient.
Caltrain is doing something impressive that almost no other rail agencies are – it’s helping power the grid!
Regenerative braking is an under-tapped resource in the rail sector that could someday help recoup up to 50% of the energy used by trains.

If you or someone you know has been impacted by the Republican government shutdown and health care crisis, we want to hear from you.

Trump continues to belittle and disregard federal workers. Denying them backpay during this Republican government shutdown is illegal, shameful and deeply unfair.
Hardworking Americans shouldn't be used as political pawns.

Palestinians in the region have endured unimaginable loss of life, heartbreak, uncertainty, and fear. We need an end to this war, to return the remaining hostages to their families, and to reach a solution that provides lasting, durable peace.
Today marks two years since Hamas’ brutal Oct. 7th terror attack that shattered families and entire communities. My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and to everyone affected by the horror and senselessness of that day. Two years later, the resulting war and suffering is ongoing.
I'm hosting an emergency digital town hall TOMORROW at 5:30pm PT.
I'll be joined by Covered California Executive Director Jessica Altman to discuss the Republican government shutdown and health care crisis.

A new nonpartisan report found that health care premiums will DOUBLE if Republicans let ACA tax credits expire.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are ready to support a bipartisan plan that lowers costs. Republicans need to come back from vacation & do their jobs.

I visited air traffic controllers at SFO who are currently working without pay due to the Republican government shutdown.
Federal workers do vital work for the American people.
It's time for Republicans to support a bipartisan budget that protects health care so we can reopen the government.

This morning I joined @rephuffman.bsky.social, @kevinmullin.house.gov and Bay Area health care leaders at NEMS to call out Republicans’ cruel health care crisis.
While the GOP puts affordable health care at risk, Democrats are fighting to keep government open and prevent skyrocketing premiums.
I’ll fight to reverse this shameful attack that threatens the livelihood of California workers, our environment, and our economy.
This disastrous decision comes when Americans are already struggling to afford utility bills, groceries, and health care.
But Trump’s Republican Party continues to take jobs away from hard working Americans to punish blue states.
