In Trump’s first term, he foolishly withdrew from the deal that was keeping Iran’s nuclear program in check. Now, Trump claims to be negotiating a new deal while ordering the largest military build up since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Trump’s recklessness is endangering our service members.

Trump again lies that he has ended “7 wars.” Here’s the reality.

Instead of addressing violence & crime, Trump has closed the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, cut $300M for community violence interruption, and legalized the sale of devices that turn semi-automatic weapons into machine guns. He has chosen the gun lobby over American families. #StateoftheUnion

Chicagoans are about to miss out on some legendary reporters from our airwaves. Paul Lisnek, Sean Lewis, Dean Richards, Ray Cortopassi, Bronagh Tumulty, Judy Wang, Julian Crews, and Chris Boden have brought critical news to our city. They have also been my friends.

The ax is falling at WGN-Ch. 9, cutting a wide swath out of “Chicago’s Very Own” TV newsroom.

Trump continues to divide Americans, even our gold medal-winning Olympians. His mockery of the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team (who also won gold against Canada earlier last week) is unacceptable. This is not what Team USA, America, or leadership is about.

In the past year, Trump has spent more time groveling to Putin rather than advocating for the Ukrainian people. I’m standing strong as a Co-Chair of the Ukraine Caucus in supporting Ukrainian freedom and democracy everywhere.
