REP. ADAM SMITH: We roll out red carpet for Putin, we belittle and insult President Zelenskyy in White House — he has no cards, right? Well, year after that, it looks like Zelenskyy had couple of cards to play because Ukraine is actually winning against Russia.

Hegseth: "Their nuclear facilities have been obliterated." Rep. Smith: "We had to start this war, you just said, 60 days ago, because the nuclear weapon was an imminent threat. Now you're saying it was completely obliterated…So Operation Midnight Hammer accomplished nothing?"

Rep. Smith: "On Ukraine a year plus ago, your advice, the president's advice was Ukraine had no cards to play…Clearly, that was wrong. What did you miss?" Hegseth: "What we didn't miss…is that Joe Biden, with no accountability, gave hundreds of billions of dollars of our weapons to Ukraine." (
13 service members killed. Hundreds more injured. Gas is up $1 a gallon. This war should have never been started in the first place.
HEGSETH: Their nuclear facilities have been obliterated SMITH: Whoa whoa. We had to start this war, you said, bc the nuclear weapon was an imminent threat. Now you're saying it was obliterated? HEGSETH: They had not given up their *ambitions* S: So Operation Midnight Hammer accomplished nothing

Smith: "We're doing this on our own as we increasingly push away all our allies, gratuitously insulting them. In the middle of this war where we're asking NATO to come join us, the president took time to insult Macron and his wife. How is that helping us, to try to belittle everybody in the world?"
This weekend in Seattle, I visited the Vaisakhi celebration alongside the Consulate General of India. Thank you for welcoming me to this great festival honoring the new year.
We need effective, fully funded agencies with qualified staffers to best help the homeless population in King County. We cannot afford to lose track of $8 million in public funds. Disfunction at the top will trickle down to those receiving services, and that is something that Seattle cannot afford.
These artists have dedicated a lot of time to their pieces, and I look forward to seeing our winner, Aurelia Zhou, have her piece “Just Around the Corner” hang in the U.S. Capitol for the next year. Great work.
