My statement on the credible threat on Leader Jeffries’ life by a pardoned January 6th insurrectionist.
SNAP is a lifeline for millions of families, including many West Michiganders. It helps folks put food on their tables, and yet, House Republicans’ government shutdown could put these benefits at risk starting as early as November 1st.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to today’s virtual town hall. As we navigate this government shutdown together, it’s crucial for me to hear from you all about the issues that matter.
Stay tuned for our next event!

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I'm joining DWC to spread awareness about early detection & mammograms.
Twice, I received the news that I had breast cancer. Twice, I was lucky to catch it. I am now a two-time survivor.
Please speak with your doctor about your own risk & steps you can take.🩷
Happy Deepavali to everyone celebrating in MI-03! Wishing you a wonderful festival spent with friends, family, and loved ones.

Secretary Hegseth has targeted women in the military before he was even sworn in.
@demwomencaucus.bsky.social and I are demanding that he stop dismantling vital resources for women in the military and end his demeaning rhetoric towards women.
Our servicewomen deserve better.
It’s always such a great night at the Grand Rapids NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Gala. West Michigan is better because of the important work of the NAACP, and I’m proud to stand alongside them as we work toward a more just future for all.
If you or someone you know is concerned about their federal benefits during the government shutdown, please reach out to my office at 616-451-8383 or by visiting scholten.house.gov/contact.
Our local nonprofits do crucial work for our community members, and I’m doing everything I can to support them during this shutdown uncertainty. www.wzzm13.com/article/feat...
It’s been 53 years of the Clean Water Act, but our work isn’t done to guarantee clean water for all.
As this shutdown carries on and Republicans refuse to work to end it, I want to hear from you. How is this shutdown impacting your day-to-day? Are you concerned about your health care costs, SNAP benefits, or paying your next bill? Let Team Scholten know. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Air traffic controllers, the crucial federal workers who keep our airspaces safe and planes flying smoothly, deserve to be paid for their work.
I’m in DC with my T&I colleagues calling on our Republican counterparts to open the government and give these hardworking Americans the pay they’ve earned.
Small but indeed MIGHTY, that’s our GRR! So proud of West Michigan’s pride and joy for being voted the #1 small airport in the nation. Onward and upward! 🛫

Thank you to the nearly 8,000 West Michiganders who tuned in to our telephone town hall yesterday. I can’t do my job well without hearing directly from you, and events like these inspire me to keep pushing forward to deliver for our community.
I’ll never stop fighting for you, West Michigan.
It’s now week three of a government shutdown. Republicans have gone nearly a month on a taxpayer-funded vacation without work. It’s a disgrace.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are back in Washington to demand that Republicans get back to work.
Even members of their own party know: House Republicans do not deserve a taxpayer-funded vacation when they haven’t done the work. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/u...
‼️Join us LIVE for our telephone town hall. Tune in at www.facebook.com/share/v/1D2B...!
