Higher prices for consumers are the “last of our concerns” for Trump’s White House. In fact, Trump said higher oil prices mean “we” make a lot of money. What? You’re paying more – and they don’t care.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak with young women from across NE Ohio who are the future civic leaders we need. Thank you to Dana Capers & Dr. Alison Graves-Calhoun for inviting me to the Western Reserve Chapter of the Links for the Growing Leaders session this weekend.
"The last of our concerns"   Trump is raising prices again for the American people and this entire White House does not care.
Hassett: "If the war were to be extended, it wouldn't really disrupt the US economy very much at all. It would hurt consumers, and we'd have to think about what we'd have to do about that, but that's really the last of our concerns right now."
Trump's America: our friends, family, and neighbors skipping meals to pay for health care. People are suffering because of Trump's greed. The White House implemented the largest cuts to Medicaid & the ACA in history and sent premiums soaring - all for tax cuts for the rich.
It was inspiring to witness these talented students learn more about hearings and legislation and to see them find their voice. Thank you to the Mayor’s office and the Cleveland City Council for allowing the students to experience speaking in chamber.
Spending time with local students was definitely one of the highlights of my week! I loved getting to speak with young people at Fairfax Elementary about public service and how they can get involved at a young age. Thank you to Fairfax Elementary for the opportunity and all the work you do.
I joined the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati to celebrate $9.4 million in affordable housing grants for senior housing, home repair, and development in OH-11. The FHLB was created by Congress to improve access to housing and I will continue to support this vital tool.
Trump is desperate for any relief for the economic pain his war with Iran has caused. The latest move? Lifting sanctions on Russia. That's right - Trump is letting $$ flow to Putin's regime, who is also aiding Iran. apnews.com/article/trum...
A big win for veterans, federal workers, and workers’ rights and a loss for the Trump Administration. Bargaining rights are fundamental and it’s appalling that the Trump Admin is going after them as part of an anti-veteran, anti-worker, and anti-health care agenda. www.afge.org/publication/...
Enjoyed taking part in the Shoreby Club's "Legacy to Leverage" conversation on Black Women and civic leadership in Cleveland. It's so important to have dialogues like these on representation and justice, especially in this current moment.
I am absolutely horrified by the attack on Temple Israel in MI. Sacred spaces are meant to be sanctuaries, not targets, and I’m sending my prayers and support to Jewish Americans in Michigan, Ohio and across America who are witnessing another act of vile antisemitism and hate.
Honored to attend the City of Richmond Heights International Women’s Day Luncheon w/ Mayor Kim Thomas and local leaders. This powerful event brought women together to celebrate who we are, reaffirm our fight for fairness, justice, and equality, & chart a path forward together.
