The Trump admin is trying to send @replamonica.bsky.social to prison for conducting routine oversight at ICE’s Delaney Hall facility – her Constitutional duty on behalf of her constituents. Today, she’s in court to defend herself from this authoritarian power grab. I’ll always have her back.
WE STAND FOR COURAGE WE STAND WITH LAMONICA:

Rep. LaMonica McIver is facing 17 years in prison for conducting oversight of ICE. She demanded accountability from the Trump admin, and his DOJ charged her. Now she is fighting for all of us.
Let’s be clear here: Trump is holding this bipartisan and bicameral housing bill hostage because he wants to disenfranchise voters ahead of the midterms. He literally does not care about lowering our costs.
Donald Trump is throwing a temper tantrum and just announced that he’s refusing to sign the bipartisan housing bill we passed yesterday.

First he says affordability is a hoax, now he’s tanking a truly good piece of legislation that would help lower housing costs nationwide.
wow -- Trump is crashing out: "Today’s Housing News Conference and Signing is hereby cancelled until such time as we pass the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT, which I consider to be a National Emergency. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT"

Four years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. To say it’s been a disaster is an understatement. In states across the nation, critical care has been delayed or outright denied because of abortion bans.   We’ll never stop fighting for reproductive rights for all.
I’m so excited that we were able to take this good, big step forward by passing the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. This is good news for folks in Vermont and across the country who are struggling to find housing.
The House just overwhelmingly passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act! This is a bipartisan bill that represents the biggest change in federal housing policy in decades. It’s a major first step toward lowering the cost of housing nationwide.
BREAKING NEWS: Rep. Balint votes in favor of Biggest Housing Legislation in Decades

21st Century ROAD to Housing Act will make generational investments in increasing the supply and lowering the cost of housing nationwide.
It’s long past time that we take on the affordable housing crisis with the urgency that it demands. We need to lower rents and make it possible for young people to buy homes.   Here’s a little bit about how my Community Housing Act would do this.
I spent last week talking to folks across Vermont. Whether we’re ensuring folks have food to eat, charting the path forward for rural development, or making health care and housing more affordable, it's clear we've got work to do.

This week in DC, we need to focus on the issues that matter.
One of the worst parts of the Trump era is that we’re repeatedly told to hate our neighbors.   Just look at all the positive videos – of people from around the world coming together to celebrate sports right now – and know we can choose a different path.
I’m proud to be celebrating World Refugee Day. Refugees are our neighbors, our coworkers, and members of our communities. Today and every day, we thank those who’ve decided to make their home in Vermont and salute the amazing partners who help welcome them.
Happy Juneteenth! As a former history teacher, I really appreciate Juneteenth - the history it teaches us and the lessons it leaves us with today. None of us are truly free unless we’re all free.
This video goes out to all the graduates and the loved ones who helped them get there. Congratulations! No matter what’s going on in the world, it’s important we put things aside to rejoice in these milestones.
It’s been a big week for housing. On Monday, I announced the my Community Housing Act to bring costs down. And yesterday, a bipartisan deal was struck on a major housing package. There’s agreement - whatever your politics and wherever you live - that this is a crisis that demands action.
Let’s be clear: Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress kicked MILLIONS of Americans off health care through their refusal to bring premiums down.   They quite literally took the money they could have used for this and instead cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy. Disgusting.
