Another gift from Trump to his pal Putin. This enables the Russians to continue killing long suffering, Ukrainian civilians. Of course, Trump’s reckless war against Iran is his greatest gift to the Russian war criminal.

The number of Americans lost in this unnecessary war of choice in Iran has risen to double digits.
Our servicemembers are heroes, but in the rush to war, the first six of them should never have been lost from being left unprotected from Iranian attack.
[2/2] His “patriotic press” is one that accepts Trump regime lies in order to sell this reckless war to the American people. Hegseth follows the logic of Orwell’s Big Brother: “War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.”
[1/2] At today’s press conference, Hegseth used most of his firepower to attack the American press, especially CNN. “The sooner that David Ellison takes over that network, the better.” Clearly, he foresees more suppression.
[2/2] And when he finally addressed the additional servicemembers killed yesterday? “Bad things happen.” And not accepting responsibility for thefatal mistake of bombing an elementary school with at least 175 deaths, which Trump tried to blame on Iran.
[1/2] Recommend you watch Pete Hegseth’s press conference for an unmatched display of arrogance. Soaring oil prices nearing $100 per barrel? You “don’t need to worry about [that].”
[2/2] A recent survey by the American Jewish Committee found that 91% of American Jews say they feel less safe in America today.
This is unconscionable. Antisemitism, hate, and bigotry in all forms have no place in our world.
[1/2] Families should never live in fear as they attend their house of worship. A driver ramming his truck into a synagogue outside Detroit is yet another horrific attack against the Jewish community — part of a deeply troubling pattern across the globe.
As Trump Regime insists that it shouldn’t be denied the ability to use AI for domestic mass surveillance and to operate weapons without human control, Anthropic has rightly declined.
Now it has been joined by other important forces in opposition to this dangerous Regime overreach.
Great to join Chancellor Russell Lowery-Hart and Austin Community College trustees in partnership with the Trellis Foundation to make greater use of AI to help support students and to train students in working with AI.
Republicans appear ready to give Trump an extra $50B for his illegal war on Iran—money they refused for health care, education, and food security. Long as they continue acting as a doormat for Trump, he will continue pushing the red line, ignoring checks & balances, & behaving like an authoritarian.
[2/2] Following his warning, Trump issued an executive order targeting “woke AI,” and now Pete Hegseth has designated Anthropic a “supply-chain risk.”
[1/2] The Trump regime is following Xi Jinping’s playbook by punishing any private citizen or company that disagrees with them. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei was one of the few AI executives to criticize the Trump regime for sending advanced AI chips to China.
Rubio confirmed that Trump was not America First, but at best, America second behind Netanyahu. Like President Bush, Trump could have said no when there was obviously no imminent threat to U.S. While he usually huffs and puffs, Trump simply lacks the strength to standup to strongmen around the world
[2/2] U.S. air defense interceptors diverted to the Middle East mean more missiles and drones Putin can fire at Ukraine. And Russia once again has an opportunity to work with Iran against the United States.
[1/2] Excellent summary by Biden’s former national security advisor Jake Sullivan regarding how Trump’s unjustified war with Iran is helping his pal Putin in so many ways. Rising oil prices mean more money pouring into the Kremlin’s coffers.
[2/2] Meanwhile, the monetary cost to taxpayers will continue for years as Republican Appropriations Chair Tom Cole affirmed today: “I think war is never paid for when you fight it, it’s paid for over time.”
[1/2] The true cost of Trump’s unnecessary war is felt by those who suffer and their families. The casualty and wounded count will grow substantially if Trump deploys ground troops, an option he refuses to rule out.
Trump loses once again on his phony claim that only foreign countries pay his tariff taxes. Over 900 U.S. businesses are suing the Trump regime for refunds on $175 billion in tariffs, which the Supreme Court says Trump illegally imposed — costs that raised prices for businesses and consumers.
The chaos across multiple airports is a totally unnecessary Republican-created problem. Dems have proposed funding for TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard, yet Republicans – who hold a majority in both the House and Senate – continue to hold these agencies hostage in order to get more funding for ICE.
