There is no legal or financial reason to furlough federal workers whose pay comes from fees, not annual appropriations. I’m working with my colleagues to demand that every one of these workers gets paid now. No excuses.

President Trump and Russ Vought must follow the law and ensure that our most vulnerable families can keep food on the table.
I joined @hoyer.house.gov, state leaders & union reps in Bowie to hear from federal workers hurt by the Republican shutdown. Families are missing paychecks & struggling to get by. We’re fighting to protect federal workers & stop healthcare costs from skyrocketing. #FedWorkersMatter #EndTheShutdown
Trump’s demolition of the East Wing mirrors what he is attempting to do to our democracy- destroy it for his own gain. In Congress, we are demanding that he answers to the American people.

I’m proud to be recognized as a Congressional Retail Crime Fighter by the National Retail Foundation for my support of the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act. bit.ly/4nf2Te2
Trump’s priorities are upside down — we need to be investing in people, not vanity projects.
It’s outrageous that millions in private money are being poured into tearing down part of the White House while families in my district are losing SNAP benefits and federal workers are missing paychecks.
After months of uncertainty and hardship for our federal workforce, this center is a strong local response — providing real resources, career support, and stability for the people who keep our government running.
Great to join Governor Moore and Montgomery County officials this morning at the newly launched Federal Workers Career Center.
The Republican-led shutdown is now in its fourth week, and families are struggling. Savings are being drained. Debts are climbing. Healthcare costs are slipping out of reach. Republicans are choosing the wealthy over working people. It’s time for Congress to choose people over profits.
A $230M payout from a DOJ run by President Trump’s former defense attorneys isn’t justice — it’s corruption, plain and simple. The American people deserve transparency and accountability, not self-dealing from those in power.

Millions of working families are facing higher health care costs because Republicans are holding the government hostage to fund tax breaks for billionaires.
I joined my colleagues, l @protectourcare.org & advocates to demand action and stop this #GOPHealthCareCrisis

The only outrage, Speaker Johnson, is that you’re denying @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social her seat because you’re scared the Epstein petition could reach 218 votes.
Now, he’s already paying it forward by volunteering to help others. That’s the power of community and compassion in action. Thank you to GEICO, Enterprise Mobility, and Caliber Collision for making it possible.
It was an honor to join GEICO, the National Auto Body Council, and Friendship Place to help a local veteran get back on the road. Joseph Butler of Laurel received a refurbished “Recycled Ride” that will help him get to work and access his medication.
The Trump administration’s war on science is unprecedented and it’s hurting our future. RFK Jr. and his allies are firing experts, silencing researchers, and undermining public trust. We should be investing in scientists, not pushing them out.

Thirty years after the Million Man March, the fight for dignity and justice continues. As the No Kings movement filled the Mall this weekend — on the very day we marked that historic march — one truth echoed through time: power belongs to the people, not to any one man. #MillionManMarch #NoKings
What’s happening to the rule of law today is deeply troubling. Erez Reuveni showed real courage in sharing his story & reminding us what taking an oath truly means. The lies against Kilmar Abrego Garcia were unacceptable. Drawing attention to these attacks on the rule of law is right and necessary.
