UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, our weekend office hours scheduled for tomorrow are postponed. We apologize for any inconveniences. Stay tuned for a new date soon!
REMINDER: Weekend Office Hours 2/9 My team & I are hosting office hours on Sunday, February 9, 10am-1pm, at my Flushing District Office. Stop by to ask questions & receive assistance with federal agencies like the VA, Social Security, IRS, & more. Details👇
We cannot let the GOP hand over Americans' personal information to an unelected billionaire. I’m proud to support the Taxpayer Data Protection Act, which protects families and secures their confidential information, like SSNs & tax returns, held in the Treasury payment system.
I joined 153 of my fellow House Democrats to demand answers from the U.S. Department of the Treasury about Elon Musk's hostile takeover of our personal information. An unelected billionaire should not have access to our SSNs, tax returns, banking information, and more.

UPDATE: A federal judge has paused the administration's unfair plan to suddenly & severely fire federal employees. Our federal workers take an oath to serve the United States, not an elected official. I stand with them & their dedication to public service.
Lowering costs is a priority in Queens. 25% tariffs on our largest trading partners will raise prices on essentials, like gas & groceries. A trade war will be a disaster for hardworking families.
A special thank you to all who joined us for Mobile Office Hours with GPK Foundation. Throughout Queens I'm working to reach groups & constituents that could be impacted by a federal funding freeze. I won't leave our community organizations & the people they serve behind.
Elon Musk was not elected by the American people. We deserve answers as to why he was given unfettered access to US Treasury payment systems – which hold Americans' most confidential & personal financial information. This is an unprecedented power grab & a major privacy breach.
USAID protects national security and global health. Elon and the President can't just end it. That's illegal and unconstitutional. It's a trial run for other agencies. America alone is not America first.
My thoughts are with the loved ones of U.S. Capitol Police recruit Christopher Katz who tragically died in a car accident this weekend while attending the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Wishing a quick recovery to the other recruits injured in this terrible accident.
I hosted a grant information session to help Queens groups navigate the federal funding process & listen to their concerns about the impact of a federal funding freeze. Organizations in Queens rely on federal funds. Any disruptions could be detrimental to the people they serve.
A wonderful evening spent at the Time Television and Bangla Patrika Gala! I'm proud to celebrate the most prominent media outlets serving the Bangladeshi American community here in Queens. I commend both their teams for their dedication & commitment to fair & honest journalism.
Relieved that American Keith Siegel is coming home & reuniting with his wife Aviva after months in Hamas captivity. Aviva was also taken hostage on 10/7. Since her release, she has been a fierce advocate for hostages & families. I'm grateful they are safe & together again.
Our nation & our community is a better place because of the contributions of Black Americans. During Black History Month we recognize their extraordinary achievements in every part of American life & culture. Together, let's continue to uplift their voices & stories.
