The Equal Rights Amendment has been a beacon of democratic values for over a century.
Yet our current protections remain vulnerable.
That's why we convened an ERA Caucus roundtable with experts on how we can continue advancing our strategy for equal rights under the law.
Donald Trump has never had a strategic plan or endgame for his unauthorized, reckless war in Iran.
All he has done is destabilize the region, put servicemembers at risk, and harm our families by driving up the cost of gas and other essentials.
The people deserve better.
John Lewis said it best: In a democracy, the right to vote is the most powerful, nonviolent tool we have.
People marched, protested & bled for that right. But today it's under attack.
We must defend the right to vote & we can start by passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
BREAKING: A court packed with Trump-appointed extremists decided to make medication abortion harder to access.
Let's be clear: mifepristone is safe, effective & FDA approved.
We won't stop fighting to protect our reproductive freedom & this basic, essential form of healthcare.
Reposted byCongresswoman Ayanna Pressley
We are monitoring the Fifth Circuit decision that just came down concerning access to #mifepristone.
As we examine the ruling and its impacts, let us be very clear:
Minority-owned small businesses are under-served by our financial system, and Trump's proposed regulations would make that worse.
That's why we need policies like my SPARK Act, which would ensure that these small businesses are invested in and supported.
I'll keep pushing to hold this lawless White House accountable, to support our labor unions, and for all of our dedicated federal workers to be met with the dignity and respect they deserve.
That's why we've fought hard for Ellen and federal workers like her to be reinstated so they can continue serving our country.
I’m so glad to hear she was reinstated & restarted her job this week. But she should have never been fired to begin with.
Her firing was a violation of her right to free speech, and she was one of the hundreds of thousands of federal workers terminated by Donald Trump and Elon Musk's DOGE unlawful firing frenzy.
My constituent Ellen Mei, a dedicated USDA employee, was unlawfully terminated after warning the public of the administration’s cuts to SNAP.
She is an essential worker who is damn good at her job and who took an oath to serve and give back to our communities daily—to literally feed our neighbors.
Supreme Court expansion.
Term limits for justices.
A binding code of ethics.
John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
Defend our democracy.
Housing is a human right, but discrimination against folks with criminal records has been a barrier to housing, economic stability, and public safety.
My bill with Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib would help disrupt the prison-to-homelessness pipeline and advance housing justice.
As a survivor of sexual assault, I know the pain & trauma survivors carry daily.
That's why I've been pushing for the transparency, healing, & accountability survivors of Epstein's abuse are owed.
They deserve nothing less, and we won't let up.
#SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth
Last year Republicans gutted SNAP & kicked millions of families off food assistance to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
Now they want to double down & extend those cuts for 5 years—hurting children, elders, & folks with disabilities.
I am vehemently opposed & urge my colleagues to vote NO.
Last night House Republicans passed a budget bill that gives ICE & CBP $140 billion to continue their campaign of terror & violence against our communities.
Unconscionable.
I voted NO & will keep fighting to abolish ICE, end qualified immunity, & hold this lawless agency accountable.
Today we filed contempt charges against Pam Bondi for refusing to testify about the Epstein files coverup.
45 mins later, the GOP announced her appearance date.
We'll keep pushing for accountability.
Whether you’re a politician, prince or president—a reckoning is on the way.
Today, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments on Trump's cruel and unlawful attempts to end Temporary Protected Status.
TPS holders are essential and our message to the Court is simple: do your job, uphold the law, save lives, & protect our communities.
Their home is here.
With this shameful ruling, the Supreme Court is once again complicit in Republicans' assault on our democracy and Black political power.
This decision will disenfranchise millions of people, further weaken the Voting Rights Act, and embolden racial discrimination in our elections.
TPS holders have served as a backbone for our families, our economy, and our country.
That's why we're calling on the Supreme Court to uphold the law, save lives, and defend Temporary Protected Status.
Because an attack on TPS holders is an attack on all of us.
Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed & have their experiences centered.
Grateful to stand with survivors today as they demand accountability.
Their testimony is powerful & I'll carry their stories with me as I keep pushing for the healing they deserve.
