The Trump administration believes if they can silence us, then we can move from democracy to authoritarian government–but I will not back down! I will speak up for a democracy rooted in justice, dignity, and human rights—today and every day! Listen to the conversation: www.msnbc.com/the-weeknigh...
I have been waiting for a politician to finally address the Trump regime in its full criminal, anti-democratic, illiberal horror. Delia Ramirez finally cuts through the bullshit and lays it all on the table. @delia.bsky.social you are my hero. Noem Noem. 🇺🇸 www.mind-war.com/p/noem-noem-...
Had a powerful conversation with The Intercept, about the unconstitutional, hate-fueled attacks from Trump targeting our immigrant communities and birthright citizenship. I am introducing the Birthright Citizenship bill—to defend immigrant families and affirm our constitutional rights.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the fierce and resilient moms—especially our immigrant mothers, who have built futures while carrying generations on their shoulders. Your strength and sacrifice is the backbone of our communities, and today we celebrate you!
On this day in 1862, an outnumbered, under-equipped Mexican army stood their ground against the well resourced French forces. Backed by local communities who provided supplies, intelligence, and unwavering support, Mexican soldiers defended their land and culture with fierce determination—and won.
While some reduce this day to racist tropes or stereotypes, Cinco de Mayo is actually powerful reminder of resistance against imperialism and colonialism. A reminder that empires can be resisted, that community matters, and that colonial power has no place in democracy.
She has consistently used her power and influence to empower the next generation of leaders, especially women like me. Her leadership has driven our country and our state forward, and we will miss her voice in Congress.
Jan Schakowsky has been a fearless progressive champion in Congress and it has been an honor to serve by her side. As a legislator, she has been a champion for expanding healthcare and reproductive rights, and protecting vital services that are a lifeline for the most vulnerable in our communities.
The next time someone tries to tell you that we don't have money to fund universal healthcare or public education remind them of this and Trump's tax cuts for the rich. It's not a matter of resources, it's a matter of priorities.
BREAKING: The Trump administration says it will pay immigrants living illegally in the United States $1,000 to leave the country.
This week at Homeland Security committee, republicans voted against an amendment that prohibits DHS from using your tax payer dollars to deport US citizens. I have said it over and over, they're persecuting immigrants, residents and even US citizens. Enough is Enough. I will continue to fight back.
On April 24, ICE agents broke into a home of a family of US citizens in Oklahoma. The family repeatedly said we are citizens, you have the wrong people. ICE terrorized the family, ripped apart the house. It's not "other people" that this is happening to. It's us. Open your eyes. Wake the hell up.
This week on Young American With Dylan Douglas: @ramirez.house.gov discusses the mass deportations to El Salvador and Abrego Garcia's case. @jj-mccullough.bsky.social joins to discuss the results of Canada's election and what it means. Airing Saturday at 10am ET and throughout the weekend!
We are watching Trump accuse a person of a crime then peddle lies and even fabricate evidence to support imprisoning him. That is the power Trump and his regime are openly fighting for to use against anyone. That is why we must fight back. My article: deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/trump-fabr...
We must use every legislative and congressional authority to hold this administration accountable for the constant violations of human rights and international law. Enough is Enough!
The U.S. cannot send people to places where torture is a known risk. Transfers to El Salvador’s CECOT prison violate international law, US law, & our commitment to human rights. Today, @ramirez.house.gov & I wrote to Sec. Rubio demanding answers & a halt to these transfers.
