President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010.
It has been 15 years and there is still no Republican health care plan.
NEW: As health insurance bills rise, Republicans are still seeking an Obamacare alternative
There is no legislative product yet.
No consensus in the party about a plan.
But top GOP lawmakers and policy figures on Capitol Hill have begun discussing concepts.

This shutdown has been painful for many, especially Virginians.
But this bill fails to address the Republican Health Care Crisis. And it fails to ensure the Trump Administration will spend money as Congress intended.
I voted NO. My full statement: bobbyscott.house.gov/media-center...
Joining my House Democratic colleagues on the Capitol steps to rally against the spending bill’s failure to address the Republican Health Care Crisis and its failure to extend the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits.
Today, we honor all who served and reflect on the sacrifices of all veterans who dedicated their lives to serving our country.
I am currently hosting a Telephone Town Hall on the government shutdown and why I will vote NO on the deal in the Senate.

Speaker Pelosi will go down in history as one of our nation's most consequential legislative leaders. Thanks to her leadership, we passed the Affordable Care Act, the American Rescue Plan Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Her legacy will endure for generations. Thank you, Madam Speaker!
Today is Election Day in Virginia!

🚨Open enrollment for the ACA Marketplace opened on November 1st!
Here is what you need to know about how your premiums may change before signing up for care. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...
Earlier today I visited THRIVE Peninsula, a food pantry in Newport News.
The Trump Administration must use the contingency funds available to fully fund SNAP benefits in November. Millions of Americans across the country rely on SNAP to put food on the table, including 824,000 Virginians.

Federal courts confirmed what we said from the start: the Trump administration was breaking the law when it suspended SNAP benefits for 42 million Americans. They have a $5 billion contingency fund and transfer authority.
They simply refused to use it to feed hungry families.
House Republicans must end their weeks-long vacation and work with Democrats to fund the government and protect the health care of the American people.
Earlier today, I visited with TSA workers at Norfolk International Airport.
TSA workers across the country have been incredibly strained during the government shutdown while they are asked to work without pay to keep Americans safe.
The Trump Administration’s plan to fire over half the employees in the Chesapeake Bay Office is a direct attack on the decades-long work to preserve the Bay.

SNAP funding expires this week, leaving 824,000 Virginians at risk of going hungry.
🚨I led @bobbyscott.house.gov, @beyer.house.gov, @mcclellan.house.gov, @repsuhas.bsky.social, & @jameswalkinshaw.bsky.social in urging Attorney General Jason Miyares to join a multi-state suit to fund this program.
Donald Trump has ordered the Department of Agriculture to not use its reserve funds when SNAP dries up at the end of the month.
Over 800,000 Virginians will go hungry in November because of this choice.
Today marks Day 28 of the government shutdown and Day 39 of the House Republicans' vacation. I am headed back to Washington and I am ready to vote to fund the government and protect health care.
Donald Trump gets his lavish ballroom while federal workers are furloughed and forced to work without pay, and while Republicans refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits for America’s working families.
Millions of Americans are going to see increased health care costs because Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act's enhanced premium tax credits.
Premiums will more than double for 20 million Americans due to Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans’ failure to extend the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits.
