Had a wonderful time celebrating Lunar New Year with our APAICS and @capac.house.gov ʻohana. There is something special about reconnecting with friends and coming together to honor the generations of courage and resilience that brought us here.
We don’t honor America by whitewashing the past or using pretty language to cover pain. Celebrating our nation's greatness without truth is just propaganda.
As America approaches its 250th, we have a choice to make — will we be real patriots and fight to ensure that ALL our collective stories, from slavery, to the internment of the Japanese during WWII, to the illegal overthrow of the Hawaiian kingdom, will remain a part of our country's history?

Surprised this year’s Congressional App Challenge winners and celebrated their incredible work. Students from Le Jardin Academy, Mid-Pacific Institute and King Kekaulike High School designed very impressive apps with real-world impact & thoughtful design.
The Big Ugly Bill gave ICE seven times its annual funding while cutting Medicaid and food assistance. We cannot keep giving ICE more funding while Americans struggle to survive and face violence in their communities. Accountability is non-negotiable.
I stood outside of ICE headquarters with my CAPAC, DWC, and CPC colleagues in solidarity with the victims of ICE’s violence, due process violations, and lack of accountability. This is a failure of leadership. We are demanding the immediate removal of Kristi Noem.
It was an emotional day, and it reinforced my commitment to ensuring the humane treatment of all detainees.
