By firing Gwynne Wilcox from the NLRB, President Trump has left the Board without a quorum and shut down its ability to hold bad employers accountable when they violate workers' rights. I joined 265 of my colleagues in a letter to the president calling on him to reinstate her.
The shuttering of the University of Illinois Soybean Innovation Lab is just one of the real life impacts of the Trump Administration’s attacks on federal funding. We need to keep amplifying these stories and the impact they have on our communities.
I'm excited to work alongside @davids.house.gov as Vice Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, & Credit! I look forward to advocating for risk management policy that reflects the needs of the hardworking farmers in Central and Southern Illinois.
I'm joining educators, parents and students taking a stand for public schools! Every child should have access to a good education, no matter where they live or how much money their family has.
Often veterans themselves, VA employees work tirelessly to ensure those who served can access the benefits and care they need. My meeting with AFGE today underscored how critical it is to protect our veterans and safeguard the services they rely on.
Tariffs on Canadian imports would drive up input prices and shrink markets for Illinois growers and producers - making it even harder for our family farmers to keep their heads above water.
Join me TONIGHT at 5 PM CT as I answer your questions about President Trump's Executive Orders and Elon Musk's involvement in our government.
Do you have concerns about Donald Trump's executive actions and Elon Musk's illegal power grab? Me too. Join me for a telephone town hall tomorrow night at 5pm CT to learn more about how I'm pushing back to protect Central and Southern Illinois.
Tariffs are an important tool in our toolbox, but a 10% tariff on energy imports from Canada – one of our closest trading partners – would hurt our farmers.
Today, we had a House Agriculture Committee hearing on the state of the farm economy. From crop insurance to disaster aid, the issues we discussed today will help us craft a Farm Bill that supports Illinois growers and producers.
Last night, I voted to pass the Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act. I was proud to champion this legislation that would make it easier for disabled veterans to qualify for housing assistance and help us end veteran homelessness once and for all.
I'm very concerned about reports that USDA is reneging on contracts with farmers because of Trump's freeze on federal conservation funding. These are contracts that farmers were promised and are counting on. I encourage folks in #IL13 to reach out to my office if you have been impacted.
Scientists at the UIUC Soybean Innovation Lab were conducting critical research to address food insecurity and create new markets for Illinois farmers. Then Trump fired them. I will not stand aside while this administration attacks my constituents' livelihoods. www.ksdk.com/article/tech...

The fentanyl crisis has impacted countless lives in #IL13 and across the country. I was glad to have the opportunity to meet with members of the Illinois Drug Enforcement Officers Association to talk about our shared priorities to keep our communities safe.
Groundbreaking biomanufacturing research is happening right here in Southern Illinois and opening up new markets for our growers. It was great to visit SIUE and learn more about their work at the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center! www.theintelligencer.com/news/article...
Last year, I was proud to vote to pass the first Social Security expansion in decades. Now that the Social Security Fairness Act is in effect, more than 2.5 million public servants across the country will see the full benefits they've earned.
