Despite promising to keep us out of foreign conflicts, now Trump would spend billions to send US troops into Gaza to remove 2M Palestinians from their homeland. While distracting us with this insanity, Trump is dismantling our national security by firing any official who has dared to question him.
Our communities are not safer after Trump’s pardon of Ross Ulbricht, creator of Silk Road (a drug marketplace reportedly tied to 6 deaths) that facilitated the sale of illicit substances, including heroin. The pardon puts families at risk, just like his decision to pardon violent Jan 6 felons.
I gathered at the Capitol with colleagues & freedom-loving Ukrainians to affirm our continued support for Ukrainian victory. Trump can be the President who did better than his predecessor by getting Ukraine weapons faster or he can be “Trump the Great Appeaser” who is too weak to stand up to Putin.
When after initially being denied access to classified information on USAID servers, one billionaire forces his way into headquarters, closes the building to employees, and declares the federal agency dead. We are truly on a path to dictatorship. (1/2)
$50 million funding condoms in Gaza. Never happened. Just another myth from America’s #1 "make it up" artist peddling more lies about US foreign assistance. And Trump also falsely claimed that Hamas used them to make bombs. Condoms have been used for many things, but bomb-making is surely a first.
Listen to Reagan: “Our peaceful trading partners are not our enemies; they are our allies. We should beware of the demagogues who are ready to declare a trade war against our friends—weakening our economy, our national security & the entire free world—all while cynically waving the American flag.”
Patriotic Americans, whom Trump calls “radical lunatics,” offer compassionate care and advance our national security. Musk declaring “time for it to die” really means it’s time for people to die. (2/2)
USAID provides food for refugees fleeing Sudan war; clean water for war-torn Ukrainian communities; medical supplies for victims of land mine accidents in Laos; and shelter for millions of displaced Venezuelans in Peru. (1/2)
The main office of the US Agency for International Development in Washington was unexpectedly closed Monday and workers were emailed shortly after midnight that they should not come in, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.
Last summer, over 1M Texas children suffered because Greg Abbott rejected federal dollars for summer meals for vulnerable families. Texans’ taxpayer dollars are keeping children in other states fed while Abbott denies the same for our kids. He must end his obstruction for this coming summer.
PAY UP! New Trump order imposes 25% tax on avocados, tomatoes, fresh produce & other Mexican products upon which Texans rely. The same Trump who only 3 weeks ago declared “you’re going to see some pretty drastic price reductions” is giving us some pretty drastic price increases! My prior interview:
Veterans compose about 1/3 of the entire federal workforce, but much greater for Depts of Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs & Defense—critical to national security and veteran care. By hollowing these agencies, Trump/Musk are sabotaging the very services that support veterans and their families.
With St. Edward’s longstanding commitment to advancing students and their families, this program will reflect the diversity of our community and the importance of offering culturally competent care. Hilltoppers at the top. (2/2)
Great to join St. Edward’s University President Dr. Montserrat Fuentes, faculty, staff and students for the grand opening of their new nursing program. This program could not come at a better time as we are eager to secure more well-trained nurses. (1/2)
We must reject the demonization of trans individuals, including those in uniform who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. Equality is an American value they are serving to protect.
It’s beyond shameful that one of President Trump’s most pressing priorities is to disrupt our military’s readiness by forcing qualified servicemembers out of the military. Read Chair @repmarktakano.bsky.social's response to President Trump's trans troop ban at the link in our bio.
Equality Caucus Slams Trump's Trans Troop Ban. Read our full statement at the link in our bio. IMAGE: Soldiers wearing an American flag arm patch saluting.
The radical Trump anti-immigration policy now calls for sending armed immigration personnel into our churches, hospitals, and schools. Whether in a pew, a hospital bed, or a school desk, these tactics are not really about securing our border or removing criminals, only about advancing cruelty.
…along with friends from the Austin Hongkonger Community Center, and celebrate the critical contributions of immigrants to this country and the strength in our diversity.
Wishing a happy, peaceful, prosperous Lunar New Year to all those who celebrate. Particularly in these deeply troubling times, what a joy to ring in the Year of the Wood Snake with my longtime friend, Amy Mok, at her Asian American Cultural Center…
