8 years ago today, Trump withdrew from the Obama JCPOA designed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Iran has since accumulated 22,000 lbs of enriched uranium. Trump’s reckless war appears focused on a problem that he help to create. Americans are paying the price for his failure.
Medical research funding has fallen roughly $1 billion, with the National Cancer Institute approving less than one-third of what it had agreed to spend in a typical year under Biden. The Trump regime’s layoffs and cuts are killing innovation and the ability to find cures to these horrible diseases.
[2/2] Construction will only cause destruction. We must preserve Big Bend’s natural scenic beauty as well as the economy and livelihoods of the people who call West Texas home.
[1/2] Border county sheriffs, both Democrat and Republican, are united in their opposition, but unfortunately not a single GOP Congressmember or Senator has spoken out. This is an opportunity to bring together people of all political persuasions who treasure one of America’s crown jewels.
As self-proclaimed “acting president of Venezuela,” Trump hasn't shown any interest in the rights of Venezuelans. Maduro’s secret police chief – responsible for the torture and disappearance of opponents – was promoted to Defense Minister. It’s only about the oil, not the well-being of the people.
Trump’s top economic advisor celebrates consumers being driven into credit card debt from rising prices at the gas pump, grocery store, pharmacy, and elsewhere. He got one thing right: Americans are spending more on EVERYTHING thanks to Trump’s tariff taxes and failing agenda.
Hassett on American consumers: "Credit card spending is through the roof. They're spending more on gasoline, but they're spending more on everything else too."
[2/2] ... natural biodiversity, subject the river to routine flooding, and erase one of the darkest night sky areas in the world. Texans across party lines agree: protect Big Bend, stop the wall.
[1/2] The Trump regime continues to obscure their efforts to impair Big Bend. New, suspicious construction activity near the park threatens a true jewel of our state. A border wall, power lines, towers, and lighting will destroy...
[2/2] Taking equal opportunity out of the equation, the Trump regime will no longer assess whether policies or rules disproportionately harm women, African Americans, seniors, or other protected classes.
[1/2] The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission – the agency responsible for enforcing laws prohibiting employment discrimination – is being wrecked by a president who seems truly proud of his racism.
German Chancellor Merz says Iran is humiliating Trump. His response? Withdraw 5,000 US troops. Too weak to lead and too reckless to trust, Trump continues weakening NATO and abandoning our allies, with no one benefiting more than war criminal Putin.
[1/2] Along the stretch where Libby and I bike—one of the best places to see the cherry blossoms in DC—a treasured park has become the latest target of Trump’s wrecking ball. Ignoring environmental and historic...
$200M per day: the estimated benefits to Putin from Trump's elimination of sanctions on Russian oil—an outrageous gift to a war criminal who keeps on killing. Putin is the real winner in the reckless war with Iran.
[3/3] Thanks to the leadership of Eileen McGinnis with Parents’ Climate Community and Reid with Ghisallo. Efforts like these remind us that local action, driven by committed neighbors, can help move us toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
[2/3] With transportation our largest source of carbon pollution in Texas, cycling to school or a neighbor’s home—is not only healthy and economical, it is one small step each of us can take to confront the climate challenge.
As a longtime Andrew Jackson admirer, it’s no surprise Trump shows such disregard for Native American treasures. From Big Bend to Hia-ced O'odham sites, Trump’s useless wall is destroying our heritage.
Trump promised to deport "the worst of the worst." "ONLY about 5% of people booked into ICE custody in the last year were convicted of a violent crime." Arrests of people with no conviction of any kind are up 770%. To remove the worst of the worst, we’d really need to start at the White House.
Another way that Donald Trump’s reckless war has made us less safe: emptying inventory of defensive weapons we would need if encountering a genuine imminent threat, including 1,200 Patriot interceptors fired at $4M each. Restocking could take years, leaving us exposed in the meantime.
