Last week, my NY colleagues & I were outraged by staffing cuts at the World Trade Center Health Program. After sending a letter to Secretary Kennedy, I'm relieved to see that personnel were restored.
We cannot turn our backs on the brave first responders who answered the call on 9/11.
Tonight the House is voting on a GOP budget that cuts Medicaid & Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage, cuts SNAP benefits, & increases ACA health care costs to support tax cuts for the wealthy.
Republicans are putting billionaires over babies.
I'm voting NO.
Three years ago, Russia launched an unprovoked, illegal invasion of Ukraine.
Today, the US voted against a UN resolution condemning the war.
This is unconscionable. I will always stand with Ukraine and its people against Putin's destruction.
I'm proud to see Queens women shattering the glass ceiling.
Sending a warm congratulations to Battalion Chief Michele Fitzsimmons as she becomes the first-ever female @fdny.bsky.social Deputy Chief and the highest-ranking woman in fire operations.

I strongly condemn the Islamophobic incident at Masjid Nur Al Islam in Kensington, Brooklyn this week. Islamophobia has no place in our community. We must stand up to hate in all its forms each time we are confronted with it.
For weeks I've been hearing from constituents & organizations in my community about the impacts that the administration's policies are having on Queens & the uncertainties people are feeling. I'm listening & I'm fighting for you.

My @laborcaucus.bsky.social colleagues & I met with AFGE, @nteunational.bsky.social & @ifpte.bsky.social, major unions representing federal employees.
Federal workers take an oath to serve our nation, regardless of who is in the Oval Office. We must stand with these dedicated public servants.
Weekend Office Hours: 2/23
My team & I are hosting weekend office hours this Sunday, February 23, 10am-1pm, at my Northeast Queens District Office! Stop by to ask questions & receive assistance with federal agencies like the IRS, VA, Social Security, & more.

My heart breaks for the families of Kfir, Ariel, & Shiri Bibas, & Oded Lifshitz as Israel receives their remains today.
Kfir was just 9 months old when he & his family were taken hostage. Their horrific murders are a tragic reminder of Hamas's terror & brutality.
May their memories be a blessing.
Right in the middle of tax season, the IRS is terminating nearly 7,000 workers. These are dedicated public servants who process your returns and make sure you receive a timely and accurate refund.
How is this efficient?
Constituent Success Story: Securing Military Records
Recently, a veteran from Flushing reached out for help with his DD214 and my team was able to get it to him in less than a week!
If you need assistance with military records, give my office a call at 718-358-MENG.

Over 120,000 Japanese Americans were forcibly uprooted from their homes during WWII simply because of their heritage. We cannot allow history to repeat itself.
This Day of Remembrance, we recommit ourselves to the fight for justice, equality, and civil rights.
I've said it before & I'll say it again.
An unelected billionaire shouldn't have access to our confidential personal information.
The Social Security Administration’s records include all Social Security numbers, comprehensive medical records for disability benefits, bank information, earnings records and more, Altman said.
“There is no way to overstate how serious a breach this is"

Last week, the VA fired 1,000 employees, including disabled veterans, military spouses & medical researchers.
Instead of committing to the promise to care for our veterans, the administration is increasing VA wait times, reducing care, & abandoning military families.
I understand that Americans want to root out government waste & inefficiency, but it can't be at the expense of American workers & taxpayers.
Between illegal executive orders & forcing out public servants, the administration is putting our nation at risk.

NAP helps millions of families put food on the table each day.
Over 118,000 New Yorkers have been affected by SNAP theft – more than any other state.
I joined my NYC colleagues to announce I will be introducing legislation to restore the SNAP benefit replacement & help make EBT cards safer.
Happy #PresidentsDay, Queens!
Today we honor the leadership & legacy of the Presidents that have preserved & protected our Constitution.
We must continue to defend our freedoms & democratic values as we strive for a more perfect union.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I'm grateful to have a partner that stands by me while I stand up for the people of Queens❤️
I'm all for cutting wasteful spending. However, programs that feed children, provide health care, & lower costs for families are not waste.
The GOP budget makes major cuts to programs that Americans rely on most, like SNAP & Medicaid.
This is a betrayal to hardworking families.
Tax season in here! If you're anticipating a refund, the IRS recommends using direct deposit.
Direct deposit is the easiest, fastest, & safest way to get your refund. Paper checks are 16x more likely to be lost, stolen, or uncashed.
