This morning, I joined Electrifying Virginia, @evhybridnoire.bsky.social, Sen. Jennifer Boysko, IBEW666, @cleanairmoms.bsky.social, and more for EV Day at the Virginia Capitol to highlight the importance of EVs in the future of transportation and raise the alarm on efforts to roll back our progress.

The Trump-Vance Administration claims to have rescinded their OMB memo to freeze all federal grants and loans — but the fight is far from over. I’ll continue fighting these illegal attempts to steal these funds.
Statement graphic on Trump-Vance Administration rescinding federal funding freeze. Text reads: “Make no mistake: the chaos and confusion ensuing this week was entirely avoidable had the Trump-Vance Administration respected the separation of powers and not tried to block congressionally-approved grants and loans from providing critical support for veterans, farmers, domestic violence survivors, children, first responders, cancer patients, and more. I strongly oppose any attempt by the Administration to withhold Congressionally appropriated federal funding. Such an illegal stunt would impact federal agencies, state and local governments, our economy, and wide swaths of the American people.”

Yesterday, I joined U.S. Army Chief of Staff General Randy George to tour the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps at Fort Gregg-Adams and see the amazing ways technology is used to better train Ordnance professionals to preserve strategic readiness.

Trump’s federal funding freeze left housing advocates scrambling for answers about housing vouchers, homeless/rental assistance, and more. Administration claims that aid provided directly to individuals isn’t at risk provides no real comfort. I talked to @notusreports.bsky.social about why. ⬇️
Trump’s hiring freeze is causing chaos/confusion. He’s doubled down with a freeze on federal grant money. Who suffers? Veterans seeking healthcare. Domestic violence survivors seeking emergency shelter. Hospitals seeking Medicaid reimbursements. Just to name a few examples.
Trump’s efforts to freeze federal spending authorized by Congress will not only wreak havoc on federal agencies, state and local governments and communities, but is patently illegal.
House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member @rep-rosa-delauro.bsky.social & Senate Appropriations Committee Vice Chair @murray.senate.gov wrote to the Acting OMB Director condemning President Trump's unlawful Executive Orders & memoranda by OMB directing agencies to withhold federal funding.
In 2020, Virginia became the 38th and final state needed to ratify the ERA. I was proud to help lead the fight to enshrine women’s equality in the U.S. Constitution. Tonight, I celebrated with some of the amazing @voteequalityus.bsky.social activists who helped make it happen.

This week, I’m in the district checking in with local government leaders on our shared priorities for our constituents. Today, I visited with leaders from Brunswick, Emporia, Greensville, Southampton, Surrey, and Sussex.

The past two weeks saw the peaceful transition of power from the Biden-Harris Administration to the Trump-Vance Administration on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. While Trump unleashed chaos, I focused on community. Read what you missed below ⬇️
This International Holocaust Remembrance Day marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, one of the most infamous concentration camps of the Holocaust. Today, we remember the millions of people murdered by Nazis in one of the greatest atrocities to ever occur.
